When you spend all day fixing other people’s cars, you don’t really want to do more than the bare minimum on your own. The employee lot of our service department is a testament to this ideology.

Is the 1/3 cash in your 401(k) or in a savings account outside of it? If you’re 41 and not touching that money for ostensibly 20+ years, I think most people (even non-industry professionals who aren’t trying to sell you anything) would tell you it should be invested more aggressively.
Love your post, but small nitpick.
I’m sad I never saw this one in the wild to try it because every Nokia device I ever ran across—phone and netbook—was just so lovely to touch: weight, balance, particularly satisfying button clicks. That said, I can’t imagine walking around with that thing as my phone, and I guess not enough other people could either.
It’s the cheapest entry into the 3DS ecosystem, but it’s also the least satisfying. The non-foldable shape is a step down from the clamshell designs of the rest of the 3DS line.
