They already have parameters in place for these particular cases. The car enters a “limp mode” where it pulls off to the side and begins to sob uncontrollably.

Even better idea, strip it yourself! That’ll take the fun out of it for them, and you’ll never have to worry about it being stripped again.

They make very slight changes in throttle as it goes about, my guess is that they’ve learned the track and rely on timing using an internal “metronome” of sorts.

And by now, I know we’re all thinking the same thing. There should be a life-size version of this.

I made a concerted effort to beat this game with a 100% win record in my younger years (not 100% completion mind you, since that was glitched to max 98.2%). Was I good enough to win 100% of the time? Heck no (I was slightly above average if I’m honest)! However, if I was losing in a race I’d simply quit and start…

There was a period in my life where I was at the arcade nearly every day playing this. I’d rather not think about how much money I sank into it (so many filled up cards....)
