Most definitely. We had them in my area as Car2Go options and while they did the job, they were terrible. The build quality was awful, and while our infrastructure is, too, every bump caused something to stop working, at least momentarily. Slow, sluggish, rattly... at least it was easy to park.

Likewise! Mine looked just like the one above, also an ‘88. Ran flawlessly for about 300k miles before lending it to my sister for a semester, during which it was murdered.

It was incredibly comfortable, returned 32mpg on the highway, ice-cold AC. The only “issue” was the trunk, which was an odd shape and the seats…

For the Nissan IDx, I was into differently from most people (I think). Drive configuration wasn’t super important to me, but tiny engine with a manual transmission was. Something that I could enjoy driving around, slow-car-fast style.

This doesn’t sound... great. I prefer the more TRON-like BMW and Harley Davidson versions of e-noise (I think Harley’s is real, not created, and like it regardless).

This is a good thing and more major cities should adopt it. DC, for example.

Looking at your last picture in the article, of the rear, I think it might look pretty good (at least it photographed well). Those vertical taillight blades are very 1970s-1990s (wow, how time stood still). They work for me, although definitely a matter of different strokes for different folks.

I fully expected the Crosstour to be on this list, but I find it interesting because of the small sample of Crosstour owners I know (three people, four Crosstours), they all adore them.

A Rivian. I think they look great and having seen one on the streets, I was really pleased to see that it’s not a megatruck.

I inherited my dad’s ‘09 Spectra, which now has 136k miles on it. And, honestly I can’t believe this, but literally nothing is broken. Nothing has broken. I keep up on maintenance and, while there are a few rattles, not a dang thing is wrong with it.

So are the headlights the lower ones in the bumper? I sure hope so, not because they look cool but because I’m so sick of SUV/truck headlights at eye level.

Also long trips mean long timeframes, and renting a car for $1000 is a few payments. If I already have a car payment, that’s not something I can just spring for.

Despite Russia being a real monster, Moscow has an incredible system: buses, trolley-buses, trams, and subway. The Metro is gorgeous, and trains come frequently. The longest I ever waited for a train was about three and a half minutes.
