All political correctness is pandering, from the homosexual references in the therapy session to the girl power scene. I prefer the original ALIEN movie, where Ripley was clearly just as smart and capable as the captain, but still retained her femininity in the final scene. She survives because she had the perfect

It felt pretty hamfisted, which is much given the style of the movie. It would have been better handled without the “women together” scene and with just shots of Spider-Man being guarded along by the women and some interplay among them. 

Seriously. It’s like no one saw what she just did to the spaceships, Peter Parker included. “I don’t know how you’re gonna make it through all that!”

There was a lot of pandering going on in that movie but that “girl power” moment definitely felt the most shoe-horned. The only thing it was missing was a ‘CLAP IF YOU’RE WOKE’ blinking sign on the screen.
