Honestly? The lore is fine. Everything fits in fairly well. It is just a little weird that Yu has needed to save the world every 6 months or so. First in Q, then after the events of Persona 4, then in Arena, then in Ultimax, then in Dancing All Night. You gotta imagine Yu looking at his motley crew and screaming

Indeed. The first trailer gave a lot of gameplay so we know that they are offering more than just pretty cut scenes.

If they go absolutely bonkers and add they April Fools characters like Diablo’s loremaster and Starcraft’s Tauren Marine I might finally give in and give this game a go.

Whew. Good to hear. I’m still working on my FASHOWN. More Basarios need to die for my Nibelsnarf hides.

I believe that is why they made Tokiden, which has clear monster hunter inspired elements and is also made by Capcom.

I’ve always wondered how a video game musical could work.

Airslash!

Now, to be fair, SO4 had a really great combat system. Everything moved quickly, the action was exciting, there was incentive to do better and you didn’t need to conserve your moves for bosses. And the story had potential. It had some interesting elements, almost post colonial even. But yeah, I wish every character

Now playing

ACTUALLY, they are. They seem to be going for a Hamlet vibe, with Noctis and Stella pulling a Hamlet-Ophelia dynamic. Gamestrailers had an interesting analysis citing the Shakespearian connections.

Something about the switch axe just called out to me. Yeah I know its not the best beginner weapon and the charge blade has deeper mechanics. Heck most of the time I miss my swings. But there is just something so satisfying about landing the X+A, A, A, R, R, X+A, AAAAAAA BOOM combo. I call it the money shot combo.

Wow. I thought this was Happy Harry but its a different guy. So many talented animators on youtube now.

A Good Match For: Those looking for a demanding, rewarding action game; people with a few friends to play with; anyone who ever wanted to adventure alongside a talking cat.

Looking at it again, it bears a similarity to either Naruto or Gatchaman/Battle of the Planets.

If you build it they will come

That is why we will do it when you reboot!

Its an expression. It is not describing those two characters. Think of "not Yosuke" as an adjective making fun on how Ryuji (I think thats the guy's name) is supposedly a new, completely original character but functionally and personality-wise is very similar to Yosuke. In a sense, he is like Yosuke or Junpei but with

He looks to have a happy go lucky personality so it is possible that he is very similar to Yosuke and Junpei. Hence he could be an Expy. The cat mascot could be the not Teddie and the strong willed girl could be the not Yukari. They fall into similar archetypes so in a way they could be considered the replacements.

It is an interesting trend that the guy with the usual hero type personality is relegated as the Beta, the Lancer or even the side kick. Yosuke has the typical hero background (outsider, outcast, etc.). Junpei could have easily been the hero of P3, albeit a tragic, Cloud Strife-esque one. Heck its even more prominent

Upon closer inspection, it looks like you are right. Each character has a gun and a melee. Protector is probably the armor. The main guy looks like he is using a knife. I wonder what kind of gameplay mechanics the two weapons will involve.

Apparently the major theme of P5 is freedom, how to achieve it and what to do with it. Hence, the prison motif. The characters feels chained by the rules of society.
