I’ll never understand why Del’s hasn’t been able to expand outside of RI & parts of MA! There’s nothing better in the summer especially if, like me, you’re not super into sweets or ice cream. I think I read somewhere that they use the whole lemon when making their lemonade, which might be why it has a fuller taste

How do you know coffee milk? I've never seen it referenced! I know several ex-Rhode Islanders that pick up a bottle of Autocrat syrup whenever they visit family 😂

I feel silly commenting on an old article, but this shares a lot of DNA with New York System Wieners (which are also confusingly not from NY, but Rhode Island). The meat sauce looks similar, the wiener also uses veal, and “all the way” includes all of your listed toppings plus celery salt. The wieners aren't fried

Colombians do a similar thing with queso fresco and hot chocolate! Highly recommended. Nothing like some warm softened cheese and bittersweet hot chocolate in the morning 😋

I’m not usually big on pastries, but these sound really good. I’m a sticker for a rich, flaky pastry. I've got to keep my eyes peeled for one next time I'm in TJs!

I didn’t realize that Americans had a hard time with the texture of boiled chicken skin until I had some friends over my house for some Colombian chicken sancocho, and watched them all painstakingly removed the skin from the chicken. Must be an exposure thing. I definitely love crispy chicken skin, but silky slowly

But where's that delicious, delicious MSG??

I was trying to remember where on Reddit I read about this before, thanks! Yeah tipping 20% on an expensive drink seems crazy. Like they say in that thread, you could tip more than the usual $1-2 a drink if the bartender too a lot of care with it and was knowledgeable and helpful, but typing $50 on that drink is out

This is how I do it, I think it’s the way to go! I’ve done both belly and shoulder this way, and it turns out great. I think that cooking it low and slow first helps drive off excess moisture from the skin so that it crisps up better when you turn up the heat at the end.

Omg yes! I was in a small town in Colorado last year and could not find any skin-on pork shoulder in the major supermarket in town. I was told I could probably find that at a nearby Mexican grocery, which turned out to have recently closed. This is why all towns benefit from a Latino presence lol.
