Good point. I was going off my own experience, with relatives who have a mantra of “success is never having to lift the hood of your car”, but will occasionally ask if I need any parts or anything. In those cases I write down (or text/email) exactly what it is and there’s no confusion.

Good one. I got some cash as an early Christmas gift this year. Spent most of it on car stuff already.

Fluids. You can never have too many fluids. Oil, coolant, brake fluid, etc. Ask them what kind of oil they use and get a quart or five.

$47,190! You could buy a manatee!

You could buy a rural congressional seat!

I was at the Honda dealer today ordering a few oil seals for my ancient Prelude. Everything they had has that hideous chrome nose on it. The Accord coupe looked all right from the side, but go back to the old front grille!

Stop tempting me. I already want a 986 but I need to put the money elsewhere (the cars I have now plus a new DD soon).

I see what you did there.

Among other things, I want to drive from one end of North Carolina Highway 12 down the Outer Banks to its other end. I just need to figure out the exact time of year that the twentysomething European girls have arrived for the summer to work in the shops but the tourists haven’t started flocking yet.

A few years ago one of the import magazines (can’t remember which one but I want to say Import Tuner) was grading all the Japanese manufacturers on what they offered enthusiasts. While most of the others got A’s and B’s, Honda got an F and the magazine’s recommendation was that they should commit seppuku. I can’t find

5th gear: One of my cars is a 1991 Honda Prelude Si. It’s in pretty good condition overall...resprayed paint, decent miles (150k) on the odometer. It’s a third car for me so it rarely gets driven, but it often gets compliments from those over 35. It’ll probably never be worth its original MSRP again ($19,000 new in

He’s still several terrible people.

Integra Type R oil cap on my H23A. Just like a regular oil cap, but chrome.

Yeah, those blues and greens are pretty cool. Despite my cars being black (just a matter of chance as much as anything as they’re between 14 and 24 years old), I like the offbeat colors as well. Reds, yellows, blues, greens, oranges. It sucks that they’re getting harder and harder to find, especially if you want a

Actually, I do like the color (along with Tangerine Scream, Nitrous Blue and others)...the phrase is just an inside joke. One I probably should have kept inside, judging from the reaction to it.

Yeah, my fault for not specifying what that means.

I mean the really obnoxious bright green that you could get on the last RS. That is definitely a brotastic green eyesore, though.

I’m still holding out for Brotastic Eyesore Green.

Ugh.
