people need to learn to separate criticism of an entity from criticism of the individuals who make up that entity. Hating “Whiteness” as a structural inequity is way different from hating “You, White Person”. Same way I can say “organized religion is awful” and respect You, A Religious Person, exercising your shit.

I have no sympathy for people who voted for Trump, at all—I have sympathy for their children. I have *extra* anger for Trump voters on behalf of their children. Whatever the reverse of sympathy is, that’s what I have. Pure contempt and withering judgment, maybe.

So, I realize that most Trump voters may not identify themselves as bigots but they are certainly bigot adjacent. So pardon me while I give no fucks to their sense of remorse now. I’m a little too busy trying to find a way to protect my friends, family and myself because of the empowered dick heads who think his win…

Sorry but I’m too busy feeling sympathy for the people who didn’t knowingly support a sexist, xenophobic, racist fascist but will still be completely and utterly fucked by a Trump presidency to worry about the shit heads who were too stupid, blind, racist, sexist, or selfish to vote against him.

That stat should have been unpacked. If he had even repeated it back to her, slowly, he would have seen how it doesn’t pass the smell test. A quick google says 126 police were killed compared to 807 alleged criminals. It takes a lot of alt right gymnastics to wind up with her numbers.

Not everyone who voted for Trump is a racist. But everyone who voted for Trump had to decide that they had no problem supporting racism, or with handing an almost unbelievable amount of power to a racist who ran on a platform of discriminating against minorities.
