I completely expected the twist that they had lured Rachel to their secret corporate dungeon.

Rachel doesn't have to be invested to want to crush you like a small nerdy bug.

She is also great on the attack. No reason she has to officially be the veep nominee to keep that up.

As a left-leaning person, the truth that we would dominate those midterms if our voters would just show up is embarrassing.

A series highlight!

If anyone is looking for a more nuanced take on black voters and the Dem primary—from a black voter, who's worked on gotv efforts in several campaigns—I'd recommend this one.

Also superhero. A practical urban superhero of snow-shoveling and hot pockets, things Real Americans need.

I legitimately enjoyed Mitch McConnell's announced tactic that he was just not going to answer any questions about Trump for the next 5 months.

And is this tactic going to work? As a practical matter, I'm not seeing how it gives him actual negotiating power. I think he would have had more of that if he'd conceded before people's attention turned to the general.

As a reality-based matter, it's too late to get on the ballot in most states unless you run as the candidate of a party with ballot access in every state. And most states don't record or count write-in votes for president.

A couple of months back I sincerely hoped he would turn to downballot races as the actual way to drive forward the revolution he claims to want—the presidency is actually not all-powerful, no matter how many protesters you can arrange outside Mitch McConnell's window. And he made some reference to that in his speech.

In many lower income communities Bernie took a hit and Clinton got by on name recognition.

As a sheer tactical thing, if you expect Clinton to be arrested any minute (I consider it vanishingly unlikely, but ruling things out is clearly a bad idea this election) then you suspend your campaign and give a vague endorsement of Democratic principles and wait politely, making sure no blood is on your hands. I think it could make a great movie, but you'd have to be willing to have it be a series of cameos, rather than the expected One Guy Saves The World.

Now You See Me. Perfectly pleasant little caper movie that got bogged down by a completely superfluous Secret Society of Uber-Powerful Magicians Controlling Everything.

I really think the bit with skipping the last debate before Iowa to "fundraise for vets" and then failing to hand over any money (until WaPo went at him this month) and then whining about how anyone paying attention to any of that was picking on him has the potential to bite him hard, should things ever calm down and

I sincerely thought they were going to spend 2009 divorcing the crazy wing, coming back lean and ready to go hard for the Sensible Center in 2010. Regularly doubling down on trying to keep the Tea Party on the ship honestly surprised me.

This election is breaking Poe's Law.

With PoI winding up, casting opportunity for Westmoreland!

Unpredictability!
