I'd like to uselessly join the people who have returned to this review to post a comment complaining about the lack of season 2 reviews. Don't let this show be forgotten!

Am I alone in seeing a possible interpretation here of the show kind of chastising its viewers for enjoying the escapism of its violent sci-fi adventures too much? I don't know much about the fandom, but I can imagine that there are lots of people who whine about character development family stuff and just want more

That daydream makes the post-execution scene of Chris discarding the luggage case she had packed and that was in the car with her during the fantasy so devastating.

Won't it be sad if the Doctor never finds out that Missy was going to come back and stand with him?

Bill being rescued from her cyberfate by her watery girlfriend from the first episode came out of nowhere for me, completely worked, and retroactively improved the season premiere all at once. I quite liked it.

I wouldn't call that losing time. It was just a stylish way to show that she went to sleep and was abruptly woken up by the alarm. The crash edit was definitely calling back to that mechanically.

As always, I appreciate your ability to identify themes and symbols that elegantly tie all of the events within an episode together. Great review.

I'm so sad that Barbara is gone. My most hated character who turned into my favorite character.

She's absolutely amazing. Every nuance of every moment she's on screen is captivating.

The first half of this episode was great. Then it pulled a complete about-face that laughed away some of the best drama the show has done. That moment was utterly unforgivable. A childish prank at the expense of poor Bill and the audience. And after that things just got silly and stupid.

Blistering blue barnacles!

I mean, they did break up just so that they could get back together in a musical episode.

The clip described above of Thom giving up trying to sing Creep over the huge, stadium-filling audience who is basically shouting the verse at him and disdainfully holding the mic out in their direction before taking it back for the chorus with seething mockery and scorn breaks my heart. The audience response is so

Pretty sure it was dinner. I'd imagine there were other people there and that she wasn't there to see him.

Lapis can fly through space at a fast enough speed to reach Homeworld in half a season's time. Maybe the gems will enlist her to go after Steven?

Okay. Okay. This is a good thing, actually. Usually what happens with Netflix or Prime is I learn that a 7-season series that's been sitting in my list forever because I've been under no pressure to watch it is now leaving the service in just 12 days. Putting this deadline a year out is just what I need to get me

The opening to this episode made me recall how Batman in TAS would often stop by and check with Gordon to see what the situation was and find out what the cops were doing about it before he went into an active crime scene. I'd like to think there were times when they were moments away from a successful hostage

I actually assumed that they did and that it was a different actor!

I've learned to enjoy this dumb show, especially when Barbara or Riddler is around, but it needs to put more effort in than it has with the way Ivy magically saved Penguin's life out of nowhere and now wants to help him with stuff just because he said please (at her prompting!).

Right. You can feel the show teasing and winking at its audience constantly. That becomes its end interest rather than telling the story. Flash is far from the only show in a post-LOST world to commit the crime of playing with the viewer, drawing out its mysteries, and living for its reveals (I personally felt that
