We need to not underestimate Xi Jingping. The man’s a dangerous power player, and dreams of a Chinese empire-superpower.

All I can say is you all need to go beyond the mainstream (and western) news feeds and news-aggregators. There are a LOT of feeds especially in Asia-Pac that cover stuff no-one in the U.S. knows about ;-)

I really wouldn’t know. ACM/BFM’s a lot more complicated than simply being able to dismiss a certain tactic or maneuver. Military pilots spend years in the classroom and in the air learning that stuff.

Not when the explosions happened at a U.S. base close to the HQ of the U.S. Seventh Fleet in Japan.

I’m not sure. There’s been a massive witch-hunt and purging of “corruption” in China since April this year, that’s been largely either downplayed or unreported by nearly all western media outlets.

Not surprised you didn’t hear about it. The way the story just got killed overnight and pushed back to the inside pages of the news was downright creepy.

Factor into the context the multiple explosions in China, and that mysterious explosion at that U.S. base in Japan, and you gotta figure there’s “something” maybe going on that we all don’t know about.

Nearly everyone on here knows the A-4’s were THAT good. Israel’s IDF loved them. Cheap, tough, agile, and YES, fast. Subsonic, yes, but (a) you’re too ignorant to realize or acknowledge WVR fur ball dogfights aren’t fought in supersonic speeds; and (b) it’s fast as far as kinematic performance is concerned (cf., that

Oh I know, just wanted to point out how stupid you sound. One word does make a difference. You’re fanboying so eagerly like some demented and unloved pimply chipmunk teenager you don’t even take the time to write properly, or much less check what you actually say.

Won’t deny those are also factors, but the Sea Harriers truly were extremely nimble. The F-15C’s of the 493rd Sq. at Lakenheath AFB liked tangling with them because the Harriers gave the F-15’s a run for their money. It’s a combination of all the variables of training, skill, plane, weather, armament, loiter time,

Yeah, but as Tyler’d said, the Su-35 has the ALF-41 engines that provide enough power and thrust to give the pilots confidence in performing these maneuvers so low to the ground.

PWNED???? What is this .... 2001?? Maybe you’re the one who’s 12 years old after all.

Can’t understand the Cyrillic on Russian message boards, but Wired mag did do an article on Chinese air combat training a couple of years ago. The Chinese were using Russian-built SU-30’s. I’d imagine Russian training is probably very similar:

So many morons, so little time.

Geezus, it basically did a fucking backflip at speed.

Honestly? The European Union and the U.S. would probably be secretly relieved.

Again, now you’re making it about the Skyhawks —- just can’t keep your nose on target, can you? Sorta like the F-35. I’d tell you more about the A-4, but right now your little sister is busy viffing on my johnson, so will get back to you on that.

Yeah I hate that shit. Sheer fucking propaganda. It’s not just about the NFL making a buck, it’s also about the military industrial complex doing the soft-sell and romanticizing war for the sheep-ly public.

Why should they produce them in “appreciable numbers”? Is Russia planning to invade some country? It’s like, if they start cranking them out in numbers, “Oh noes, look out, they’re gonna take over the world ...” And if they don’t, “Oh gosh, they’re sooooo weak.”
