So true. It is pure laziness that no one in the 120 year history of my local school district of several thousand students has never been accepted into an Ivy League school. The communities lack of school funding, AP Courses, parental support and general low literacy rates has no influence on this outcome whatsoever.

The driver was specifically talking about Uber Black which has the following vehicle requirements:

The driver is talking specifically about the Uber Black service which is a high end luxury ‘black on black’ luxury sedan service. The vehicle requirements for an Uber Black vehicle are

Or more realistically, he looked at the current pay rate for certain types of vehicles, looked at UBER’s loan program and then made a decision that he would be able to make enough money to both pay off the loan and make take home cash.

Uber requires its drivers to have late-model luxury cars. I’d be this guy bought 2 more cars to start a fleet, like Uber suggested to all its drivers right before cutting their pay 25%.

By promising full time hours and great pay and encouraging people to lease new cars.

And it shouldn’t be a surprise at all when the whole house of cards collapses because their entire business strategy is to lose money on every ride with vague plans to eventually make money through monopolization, which would only be a profitable situation if they raised prices back up enough to where other

“...Uber has never promised full-time, guaranteed pay...”

Yeah, he was talking about himself, right? Wasn’t he just explaining how he runs his business?

“They blame everything in their life on somebody else”

Funny how some of the replies defending the Uber CEO sound like “well if you were smarter, you wouldn’t be an Uber driver...”

Counter Counter point: Guy trying to make ends meet tells the guy whose company is losing money faster than anyone in Tech ever, “just a thought, but maybe your strategy is not only demonstrably finically wrong, but also hurts people you depend on and should be looking out for.” CEO storms out, proving the driver’s

Its about how they treat the drivers and what kind of culture they foster. Lyft is more driver friendly and projects an image that makes rides more enjoyable and warmer for both drivers and passengers. Lyft also gives a bigger cut to drivers than Uber. There customer service was also better than Ubers and less tone

Given the actual value of the company and their current financial situation the CEO should be taking advice from anyone that will give it.

He’s an independent contractor, not an employee.

Yeah sure cause this is a free market country and guys with names like Fawzi Kamel have the same exact opportunities than a white guy named Travis.

Lyft is better because they pay a little more, don’t make it difficult for passengers to leave a tip, and aren’t actively encouraging people to go into debt to become drivers. They are still only marginally better.

The year-over-year decline in Oscar ratings is inevitable until there’s another Titanic-esque hit that’s both a massive commercial and critical hit. The vast majority of people just don’t care about the movies that the Academy honors. Though I do agree that the Oscars should move away from their typical wheelhouse of

Kimmel was just trying to get past a hugely embarrassing gaffe not of his making.

“Moonlight: Best Picture,” spat Horowitz.
