You can clearly see Warren was given the wrong envelope. 100% not his fault, poor guy. It must have gotten set down backstage and somebody picked it up and gave it to him.

Correction: Warren Beatty didn’t announce it. Faye Dunaway did.

They were given the wrong envelope. Blame Price Waterhouse Coopers or the show producers for not managing the envelopes properly. Beatty looked at the card ‘a bunch of times’ because they could see it had Emma Stone’s name on it, but Dunaway only glanced at it and saw the movie title and went with it.

Actually, Warren DIDN’T say “La La Land”—he didn’t know WHAT to do, so he showed it to Faye Dunaway...and Faye was the one who said “La La Land”, thinking that Warren was being stupid...and not noticing that it was actually the envelope for Emma Stone’s “Best Actress” award.

Uhh he didn’t call the movie. She did. He was showing her the card out of confusion. He literally reached into the envelope TWO MORE TIMES to see if there was another card in there.

The level of unthinking schadenfreude in this post and in the comments is frankly making me uncomfortable.

I take no joy in this. Despise the woman but I do feel for her children who never asked for this.

Assange has no fucking clue what he’s talking about. There was no censorship involved here! At no point did any governmental agency prevent Milo from saying what he wanted to say. Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from any consequence of your speech.
