I believe in a lot of things but the first tenet of my politics is to hold up the people who have held me up, who have filled my world with love.
I was actually pretty surprised that Dunham gave that initial statement in the first place. Its kind of brutal - “sadly we believe this is one of the 3% of false accusations” - yikes. I know that she is problematic but I think simply believing women is really not that difficult, and kind of a low bar that she failed…
I’m about half a generation older than Lena Dunham, but grew up in very similar circumstances and went to a very similar set of schools. Like, seriously, if we were the same age we absolutely would’ve known each other at least a bit and partied together here and there.
The only good thing Lena Dunham ever thrust into the world is Adam Driver.
I cannot believe how shitty her original statement was. She’s disgusting and I can’t believe I ever watched the show Girls.
The dude is full 0f shit. Alice MADE Crystal Castles, ask anybody who ever saw them live. And he’s mad as hell these days I’m sure because no one gives a shit about CC now with the Alice wannabe he tried to replace her with. That poor girl is probably being mentally twisted up by him as we speak.
Also, not that it really matters, but the only song of theirs I’ve ever heard of features her prominently, and her singing is the only part of that song I liked.
Pirate the old stuff and go see her in concert.
...in which he wrote that Glass’s new project “should be rewarding for her considering she didn’t appear on Crystal Castles’ best known songs.”
When Kath released a new song “Frail” in 2015 under the Crystal Castles moniker he included a statement in which he wrote that Glass’s new project “should be rewarding for her considering she didn’t appear on Crystal Castles’ best known songs.”

First, let’s try to remember here that Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is, straight up, a sitcom. Particularly, one that deals heavily in feminism.
It’s a fair critique of a woman coming out of a breakup, not a situation where she was sexually assaulted. So while “let’s not generalize men” sounds like it’s applicable to recent times, it’s really talking about a coping mechanism that both men and women use right after a romantic fallout, in my opinion.
The whole thing was anti-misandry. It’s saying it’s silly to generalize about all men because of one man’s actions.
This person doesn’t get that it isn’t racist to tell a religion (of many races) to stop treating women poorly. Apparently women’s rights are just for middle class white Europeans.
Fuck who they want? Really, that rationale wasn’t very well thought out. But of course Jezebel’s own choice feminism clique really loves to protect one of the most openly misogynistic religions there is. Newsflash: just because some women are/were complicit and like their oppression doesn’t mean they aren’t being…
I agree 100% with you. It may not be a popular stance for a liberal to take, but sometimes a government needs to step in to right a wrong. Wearing burqas is wrong and there is actually nothing in Islam that tells them to do so. It’s not religious freedom..its oppression perpetued by men to keep one gender controlled.…
And what exactly are YOU proposing Europeans do? Nothing? Yeah no. If these women want to be covered from head to toe, there are countries for that. A long fucking list: Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, etc. Why not go there? I mean I know why: they want their cake and eat it too. They want to not integrate AND get all the…
Hands are so 2016.
