While the character clearly didn’t hail from any Earth landmass, she was played by an actor of East Asian descent, looked like a woman of East Asian descent, and was named after a term used in both Chinese and Japanese spiritual traditions.

Because he wasn’t the real Cooper, at least not completely. His detachment during the sex scene and his cold demeanor in the diner seemed much more characteristic of Mr. C as if the two had merged in some way.

i like your analysis a lot. Again and again the show returns to commenting on itself (“Starting position is more comfortable.”) Even FWWM begins with smashing a TV. I’m sharing your insights (crediting you) with my FB group, Twin Peaks: The Return: The Discussion Group. I hope that’s ok. Join us if you want to discuss

Based on her hiding of ‘Coopers’ stern face and subsequent departure at not recognising him, I feel that this ‘430' world he inhabits is mirrors and possibly precedes what we have seen in the rest of the season. Richard is both evil dale and good dale, he does bad and good. We get essences of both characters in his

Personally, I think I really loved the ending. What was Twin Peaks about? Strip away all the lunacy and what was it about? It was about a dead girl and the FBI agent trying to solve her murder and thus symbolically save her.

Maybe it’s Baby’s First Critical Analysis to suggest that Twin Peaks: The Return is an extended meditation on both itself and the original run of episodes, but that’s the most coherent interpretation I have so far. I guess the only insight less piercing than that would be “Dale Cooper symbolically represents the

You know about this, right:

You didn’t need to create a Kinja account; the discussion is even more lively here:

omfgbbq so good. Thoughts -

Speaking of which was DOES need to be tied up? Obviously Evil Coop needs to be defeated and the Audrey thing should be addressed as should the eyeless woman in the jail, (who is possibly Diane), but what else is there? Presumably the Green Glove Guy is in the jail to punch Evil Cooper so that explains that random

I was jumping for joy, man.

I created a Kinja account just to continue talking about how brilliant this show is. I was clamoring for Cooper to wake up for the last few episodes, but damn if this episode didnt make it all worth the wait. Having our Special Agent return just as alert, thoughtful, and kind as he normally was, unchanged after 25

I think more people should approach this sort of thing with this kind of attitude. I’m a baseball fan. Sometimes I get to a game late, so I know not to check my MLB app because I know I’ll have the score spoiled. In baseball, everyone just expects that to be the case. But, for some reason, in the realm of televised

Yes. That’s what I do if I want to avoid spoilers. It’s not that hard.

I burst into tears at the Twin Peaks theme accompanying Cooper saying, “I am the FBI.” I didn’t realize just how much that moment would matter. Between that and last week’s Ed and Norma reunion and Log Lady’s death, this show is making me a weepy mess.

Who else jumped up, pumped their fists and shouted, “Yes!” when Cooper woke up from the coma entirely himself? I grew to love Dougie but I actually got a little teary when Coop came back. Oh, how we have missed his inherent goodness.

Exactly. Avoid till you watch. Be a fan and watch asap. Or at least don’t whine so much - it’s all just fun.

I’ll give this one shot - Kinja is hell. Anyway, my many-crossposted comments -
