The ex is fundie christian, you were spot on.

How to be a shitty person:

No, gaslighting based on the score would be if the game told the player all racers were weighted the same, and that the player must be imaging that they’re being penalized for being a certain character. The player “feeling tricked or lied to” doesn’t make it gaslighting. Gaslighting is about convincing the person

Kind of a toss-up. They’re both great stories.

Money trumps guilt. If the money wasn’t coming in, the studio would stop working on it. Nobody on the dev team would ever pay out of pocket just because they felt like it was owed.

I read an article a while ago that Hello Games has a huge surge in sales every time they release a big content update, which also usually coincides with their 50% off sale. It’s a pretty small studio, so it must be enough for them to ‘keep the lights on’ at least.

It is, but the manner of the arrest was a bit disproportionate to the nature of the crime.

While I'm never really one to go "whoo" to any large company winning a lawsuit. I am happy that this sets legal precedent that hack and aimbot creators do damage to the game by giving people an unfair advantage so it will now be easier for other developers to come after aimbot and hack makers

I used to wait eagerly for the Sunday funnies and Calvin and Hobbes, and seemingly the next day, I was talking shit to people in AOL Chat.

What’s crazy is it’s not like the workload drops with single coverage. It’s still the same amount of shipment and pointless task to be done.

In 20 years, there will be bumper stickers of this spooky man peeing on things.

The studio is being screwed over by a single jerk on the internet. That’s not cancel culture, that’s DMCA abuse.

The same applies to capitalist games, though, doesn’t it? Or similar. Instead of straight-up corruption on the same scale, you’d be forced to deal with companies and their owners refusing to behave, refusing to comply with the law, insisting on exporting all their goods outside the country instead of letting you buy

Meanwhile in America

No consequences? Right now the studio can’t make any money at all. Their daily revenue is a big fat zero. That sounds like serious consequences to me. I know if my employer made zero money they wouldn’t be able to keep paying their employees for very long. He could put the company out of business if it goes on long

The economy is doing fantastic, comrade! Game Over!”

Capitalist pig! You obviously don’t know about our five-year plans!

The only way this game can be realistic is if all of the economic/production data given to the player is completely fabricated and over-inflated, but you don’t know by how much. Like you think you have X units of steel being produced, but the reality is you have a fraction of that. And do that across all of your input

Whoa. Looks like someone mistook the transmogrifier for a suntan booth.

*Stands up straight*
