Seriously. People making fun of this (presumably) guy probably have profiles with one or more of the following:

Man. People judging a programmer/dev for trying something new and putting in effort lol.

Got furloughed from my work. Couple years later, my company refused an opportunity that would’ve had me back to work so the union stepped in and got me a job with the other company. My company then anticipated bringing me (and others) back to work and didn’t send us to the new place without telling us why. Once they

You can charge at home.

That’s fucking ridiculous that your PGE charges that much.

Seriously?

It’s a weird take, to be sure. Like, I don’t need a dozen little “Oh! Joel did that one time in the game!” moments for things that don’t matter like throwing bricks or crafting a shiv. It’d just be hollow fanservice which is a big reason why so many video game adaptations have largely felt unintentionally corny.

Clickers bounce back an image with their sounds like dolphins.

yeah, i wouldn’t mind one or two jokes (something about the aforementioned rafts or referencing how nonsensical his item recipes are). Something that you could be out of the room for and not miss anything.  But it can’t be a central point of the show

I don’t know how to tell you this, but putting a wall or barrier between you and a speedy clawed monster than will charge directly at you if it even hears the slightest sound is what most people would call A Good Idea™.

sure, but why, when you’re adapting something, would you adapt out one of the most iconic and recognizable concepts in favor of maybe being a hair more realistic?

Spores still existing, but not being an active threat usually, fits with our interaction with fungi in the real world. Our lungs are really good at fighting off spores - we’re constantly inhaling them - they only generally become a threat if your immune system is compromised.

Our immune systems *aren’t* great at

Although the in-universe is echolocation, it’s also acted as the video-game plays notification that there was one in the immediate area. Without that audio cue, it would be impossible to know one was in the usually dark area. Also had the added benefit making the player tense and uneasy, knowing they would have to be

It’s my understanding that Indonesia has the world’s largest flour mills, which may be a reason for the change?

You just watched a pitch. It isn’t a game, it is a pitch, and that pitch, while it describes some gameplay, is almost entirely the story. They sat down and cocreated the story together, as well as the ideas of gameplay. If a director and a cinematographer sat down for some time, and put together a list of storyboards

Now playing

Except that Straley and Druckman both created the story together (the video I posted is an early pitch, that has a lot of it, though obviously tons of things changed). While Druckman had the larger role in writing, the two co-directors both overlapped and worked on all the bits, so this is very specifically a snub

I’ll admit I’m not the financial expert here, but my understanding is that the 30-day nature of these loans makes any sort of truth in lending page confusing at best and deceitful at worst. It keeps rolling over into a new loan until you pay it off, but the terms of the loan are month-to-month.

Well, I guess it’s unfortunate that he won’t see any jail time, but frankly as someone who’s seen multiple family members succumb to dementia, I don’t feel like he’s gotten off scot free or anything.

Let’s infantilize grown women!
