Id agree with that. Ichiban and his buddies were a great time.

What are you, eleven?
I don’t care if they made the best chicken in the world and gave it away free, I’d rather starve.
Also Japan absolutely loved GoT.
Ghost of Tsushima was almost entirely rural sandbox, with only small sequences in populated areas. I would expect AC:Japan to be primarily in Edo or Kyoto, with emphasis on the parkour and architectural exploration the series’ earlier games were known for and not another Valhalla-styled sprawl.
I think it’s fine to love Ghost of Tsushima and still be interested in other takes on it. It’d be sad if everyone considered ‘open world medieval Japan game’ finished now just because GoT did it really well.
fahey’s blogged about it a few times but he suffered an aortic dissection that paralyzed him. he never recovered and passed due to health complication:
Some writers just jump off the page. Some because of the beauty of their prose, some for the amazing thought that went into crafting a world for the reader, but they all make you FEEL something.
I scrolled through this and my main takeaway was that we should all strive to live a life that will be remembered so fondly by so many.
to everyone wondering where our post was: this was it. it took a while assembling all the responses from current and former kotaku dot com staffers but all that time gave us the room to honor fahey in the best way we knew how. i didn’t get to work with him long but his personality and wit were infectious. im bummed…
As a game developer on Disney Infinity, Mike wrote the best review and he was a true fan of the franchise. I was so touched that I friended him for it (and he accepted). I was a big fan of his writing and sense of humor. He will be missed.
There’s is no one proper way to grieve, Mike would want us to forgive ourselves and have fun. Your honesty is refreshing!
Here’s your article, people. I wonder why it took so long? Look at all these tributes. RIP, Mike.
Think I’ve teared up three times reading this site: Mike’s struggle with gaming addiction, Mike’s story about being in a coma, and today reading this tribute.
Thank you—and thanks Mike, rest well, you made a lot of people happy. Truly Fahey was the best of us.

You’re full of shit. I do know a lot of game devs due to my job and you’re just speaking out of your ass.
man i love when dudes out themselves as trash by saying everyone thinks like they do
Nah that’s bs. I personally think if you don’t know about the shitty true feelings of a dev then it’s ok to consume their product. Your ignorance doesn’t justify their actions but you shouldn’t be held accountable for actions you don’t know about.
Most publishers are virulently transphobic and rant about it openly? Interesting.
No, but if you use your phone to commit a crime they will. Kiwifarms is committing a crime you absolute tool and you just made yourself complicit. Good luck in the law suit!
