It has nothing to do with how much money is spent, but on what it is spent and what is taught as a result. The schools I went to were consistently top-rated and produced an inordinate number of individuals who went on to prestigious colleges and prestigious careers.
Not all, but most for sure. It’s certainly not out of the ordinary, and I’d expect that a decent chunk expected it. Although, I’d also expect that the ‘Beta’, open and closed, gave some a false sense of hope.

Both offer a storefront to purchase games, a social layer to connect with friends, automatic updates, library management, achievement and stat tracking, multiplayer matching, early access to in-development games.…

Wrong. A person doesn’t owe you an explanation for why they’re not interested. The fact that they’re not interested should be enough.
