The Ford GT is a homologation special built, bespoke, by a race car company. The Corvette is a normal production vehicle built on a GM production line using standard GM parts and practices.
Maybe I like having spares, OK?
Basically the Cayman will always be the smaller Porsche because the 911 is above it. They will never put the GT2RS engine in the smaller, lighter, midengined Cayman platform because it would probably be faster than the 911.
Before we freak out about a potential 6-figure price tag, lets remind ourselves of two things: 1) That $69,850 GTR from 2007 would cost $86,290 in 2019 money, and 2) these are the other mid/rear-engine supercars that will compete with the C8:
The local Porsche dealer used to be a client of mine. The GM ordered each car personally, and took painstaking efforts to ensure that each was unique. To him, the worst thing that could happen is that one of his customers could see someone in a car similar to theirs.

I bought a 2010 a little over a year ago. The car has some silly (and even stupid) quirks, but overall it is the bee’s knees.
It really goes to show, in my mind, that Toyota could have easily stayed in-house for the Supra engine. Sure, it would be a V6 instead of an inline 6, but I feel that would’ve been a better compromise than what we ended up with.

I recently purchased a 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora for my friends daughter to take to college. 40k original miles.
And in a shocking turn of events, I found “my” truck about 3 hrs away. As in exactly what I want down to the colors. :D I may be buying this weekend.
The guy who orders the Ferrari with a 4 year lead time already has several Ferraris in his garage, and another two that have been on order which he will be receiving in the mean time.
“I’m not done yet! You know that little ball you put on the radio antenna so you can find your car in a parking lot? That should be on every Ferrari.”
