I have this weird pet peeve about media that is meant to have been from the 4x3 days being shot in 16x9.

I wish my parents would have forced me down a path. “You can do anything you put your mind to!” “Yeah, ok, but what do I do?” So now I’m nearly 30, finally graduating college, and my degree still has no purpose while I whittle my youth away at a desk. Thanks Mom and Dad.

Or just that it was a bad movie.

Mother, do you think they’ll drop the bomb?

Here’s the thing though. Pence is 58. He was a teenager in the 70's. He is seven years older than me and acts 27 years older than me.

Mother

complex flawed character is one thing. Bitter shithead coward is another.

Are you saying that Luke in The Last Jedi was complex?

In Return of the Jedi, Luke triumphed over the Empire and saved the rebellion without even really needing the Force. I don’t think The Last Jedi improved on that.

‘It’s just the realization he’s not Luke Skywalker. He’s Obi/’

Now playing

If there is anyone I feel bad for among all the debating and fury around Luke in The Last Jedi, it’s Mark. He trying to be very diplomatic now, but you can tell the changes to Luke just absolutely broke his heart (especially since he knew what George wanted to do with the character).

“Old man yells at clouds” vs “Young fool marvels at shiny turd”

Mary Sue Rey didn’t even know what the Force was and a literally second later she was the strongest in the universe at using it. She also know how to fix and pilot the Falcon better than Chewie or Han after 2 seconds.

There’s an excellent model for an angry Luke ghost in Nicol Williamson’s portrayal of Merlin in the film Excalibur, particularly after he is trapped by Morgana in the crystal cave and comes to haunt her dreams. Merlin in this film has a lot to inspire an angry Luke.

Now I have this image of Luke following Kylo around day and night singing “I’m Henry the eighth, I am, I am” ;)

This would be much better than giving vague advice to Rei. You know, actually make Kylo regret his choices.

Infinity War’s pre-sales have already beat Black Panther’s very impressive pre-sales, so I think not. Infinity War may hit 2 billion.

It’s the one “morality” piece for the book that people seem to completely forget because of the constant nostalgia that’s thrown at you, and that’s kinda the point. Nostalgia is great, and you see it with rose colored glasses, but the realist part of living is the human interactions, the relationships with others.

I’m one of those folks who is GLAD the heroes are the memorable ones in the MCU.

Unpopular opinion - one of MCU’s best villains was Zemo. He was patient, practical, and cunning as all hell. He had good motivation, and was a villain you could relate to on some kind of level. Bruhl was also pretty charming in a dark and tragic way.
