The Mach E tops out at 370 miles, and it’s less than 300 miles from detroit to Mackinac City, so it would make that trip. But the argument comes in about reduced range from loading up a family, using AC, reduced efficiency on the highway, etc etc etc. Semantics. I mostly agree with your point, but current EV’s suit…
“nicest Jeep I’ve ever seen or driven” is like “jumbo shrimp” lol It’s an oxymoron, might be the nicest Jeep, but it’s far from being nice. It is at least more interesting than the rest of the Jeep lineup, but it’s far from a good deal or good choice.
careful, they’ll put a haptic touch pad on the door to control the windows and locks. But they’ll put it right where your arm rests, and you’ll constantly be opening and closing windows unintentionally, and locking and unlocking your doors
They’re also not great sellers either. I genuinely forgot Alpha even sells cars in the states still lol but fair. They’re at least interesting options. Someone will at least ask you questions about them, unlike anything else offered.
people looking for a minivan will consider this, but people looking for this will not consider any other minivan. It’s not really being aimed at the minivan crowd. I suspect it’s more so being aimed at the “look-at-me-I’m-different” crowd.
30% of EV sales maybe, but that’s still a very very small piece of the overall revenue and profit pie. Chevy sold 7234 Blazer EV’s through the first half of 2024. GM as a whole sold 1,290,319 vehicles in total in 2024 (US only).
Those aren’t crushed cans, they’re scale models of the CyberTruck the owners purchased. I can see where the confusion comes from though.
When Stellantis was first formed, the thought (and plan) was that they would introduce the US to European vehicles by way of brand engineering, which could have worked! Brands with sedans still sell them fairly well, but mostly because there are so few options now for people looking to buy an actual car as opposed to…
the only vehicle offered by GM currently without Carplay/AA is the Blazer EV. It will expand to other vehicles as they’re released though.
what does stellantis offer that’s interesting. Please, someone enlighten me.
It was a family vehicle that was intended to be used. It would be like parking a crossover in a barn hoping that the youth 40-50 years later appreciates it more. It’s irrational and unpredictable to decide which vehicles will have the nostalgic cool factor later on, and as an investment, it’s a bad one. Even if it’s 5…
The only thing keeping me from buying a new EV is the same thing keeping me from buying any new car. The price. I can’t afford a vehicle newer than 2010
probably a better chance at survival if they ride the ISS down into the ocean than trying to take a Boeing ride back...
unless it’s a privately owned parking lot/garage
Way to go Andy. Thank you for filling space in the article without any substance
what the fuck
Don’t say this too loudly! The government will come along, regulate housing and vehicle prices, and make it more expensive and more complicated
god I love that lol I’d much rather wind out a dangerously slow car getting onto the highway than use 18% of a supercar’s potential on the streets. a beat-to-shit manual Chevy Sonic is more smiles/$ than near anything else
slow car fast > fast car slow
