So much more snobbish sounding than names like Eldorado or more French sounding the Coupe DeVille or SeVille right? Just move on with the times boomer

According to Carvana, my 2002 Suburban with 205k miles is worth $400. I know according to comparable vehicles on marketplace and at dealers in the area, I could comfortably list it at $5000 and sell it the same day most likely. It’s a base model and it’s 20 years old, but it has 4WD and is in better shape than most

That will never work. I drive from Maine to Southern California and back every single day for work, sometimes twice, needs at least 6000 miles per charge to be worth it. And if it costs more than $19,999, I’m not buying

You’ll use more gas if the RPMs are higher, which in the case of engine braking, they are. Think 700 RPMs while coasting as opposed to decelerating from 3000 down to 1000 RPMs rowing it through the gears.

I recently moved out of the Detroit area, and as much as I don’t miss the city living, I dearly miss the ability to get a seriously good, suspiciously cheap gyro at anytime of the day/night

the list is for CHEAP beaters. Subaru has an almost cult following at this point and good luck finding a cheap and reliable subaru for the winter

somebody post the list here please

Also add in the weight of the truck bed/tailgate that are missing. the tacoma bed maybe weighs 250-300 lbs? and then another 50-75 for the tailgate? Someone feel free to correct me, but removing that stuff would give you an extra 300-400lbs on top of that 1500lb payload capacity.

What are you trying to say? Your boss got into your 2002 vehicle... back in the 80s???

all interesting points, thanks. I just feel like the lines are getting pretty blurred these days, but I do agree that you still know a true luxury vehicle when you experience one

I think it’s interesting what “luxury” is now. I mean, nobody looks at power seats and windows, AC, navigation, comfortable seats, leather, cruise control, etc, and thinks “luxury”. They look at those things and see “standard”. What is it that defines a luxury vehicle or even separates it from a standard/comparable

It’s fine when Torch does it. Not Bradley though lol

the guy wrote an entire article about a window switch that does the same thing as every other window switch. He’s taking a cross country trip in a brand new electric performance vehicle, and all he could find to write about was how the window moves? My 2002 suburban does the same thing. Maybe it moves 4mm at a time ins

Being a flat plane engine, the power curve is so much flatter that I don’t think you’d gain much by stretching the revs out. The trans can shift and the engine still be in the useable section of the curve.

Really depends, is fucking a good thing? Most men say yes. Some of their wives have different opinions.

Great, now break it into two categories because there are two different brands there. You can’t choose from all of those options in both brands.

Thank you for this. I’m not clicking through the slideshow out of principle. Every time someone lists what was in the slideshow, I realize I already knew the answers just from looking at the comment section in the QOTD anyways.

why wouldn’t they want to shame their current owners into getting a newer model though?

You’re missing the point. I think hoser is saying that this person can take the train to a different city to expand his options and then just drive it back home. But that doesn’t make much sense because anywhere that you can take a train, you can pretty much also take a plane

You don’t need a union to do that. Look at what’s happening in the service industry. People know they’re worth more than minimum wage working shitty hours at a fast food restaurant, and so nobody is working there anymore. Now these places are being forced to pay higher wages
