I ended up with around a 4.7 when I graduated high school 10 years ago by taking all available honors or AP classes my (public) high school offered for the various core subjects and I didn’t crack the top 10. Our graduating class had 3 valedictorians. It was a long-ass ceremony.

I completely agree, and the need to fill 24 hours of news leads them all to overblowing the most trivial shit. Whenever I happen to catch one of the networks, like CNN at the gym, it’s always “breaking news:” even when it is clearly not. It just hypes people up and waters it down when there actually is breaking news.

I think Step 1 would need to be the shuttering of Fox News and other right-wing outlets that peddle conspiracy theories, or at least something that forces them to cover actual facts rather than whatever spin suits their agenda. That runs afoul of the 1st Amendment, so I don’t really know how that would be achieved.

Our relationship with Russia is worse now than it has ever been, and that includes the Cold War. There is no reason for this. Russia needs us to help with their economy, something that would be very easy to do, and we need all nations to work together. Stop the arms race?

Yeah, she’s a Republican hired gun essentially. Her job is to go on TV and defend the guy writing the checks, doesn’t matter how ridiculous or indefensible he or what he said is. I doubt she has any guiding principles that aren’t related to getting that $$$$.

I grew up in AZ but luckily got out and went to a CA college. Most of the people I grew up with that remained in AZ are casual (or not so casual) racists and idiots.

It’s almost as if this decision is rooted in xenophobia and immigrant-bashing rather than the sound conclusion of rigorous economic analysis.

I’m not sure in this instance since the U.S. attorney’s office is federal, but turning over things to state prosecutors (such as the NY Attorney General) is a good way to circumvent Trump’s pardon powers. He can only pardon federal crimes - not state ones.
