I know physicians for high school teams that have been pressured to “clear” kids to play. These kids are from affluent suburbs and are mostly staring down professional careers. They really have no shot at all at NFL careers or even college football scholarships, but coaches tend to feel that football is more important

I maintain that the concept of a “team doctor” presents an immediate conflict of interest, one that sacrifices a player’s long term health for the short-term benefit of the team, who can toss aside the player (on a non-guaranteed contract, no less) as soon as he becomes replaceable

Boy, if you can’t trust an unethical physician willing to dispense an almost unlimited amount of highly addictive narcotics to a group of men whose livelihood depends on them, who CAN you trust?

The man claims he has been running track since high school, and that he was never cut.

I can’t imagine being that good at anything at any age.

I’m a sort-of Niners fan, in that I live in Sacto. I just don’t understand why a team would give $10 mill to Cutler when the guy’s approach to football seems so “eh, whatever” and whose teammates don’t really seem to like him.

Avoided signing a QB who cares too much by signing a QB who couldn’t care less.

I FUCKING HATE BEING A DOLPHINS FAN

Another hypocrite here. I think a big part of the rise in the popularity of the NFL is the rise of fantasy football. It is so easy now to have a (kind of) personal stake in the outcome of most games. I know for me, playing fantasy was like the first hit off the crack pipe - it completely changed how I watch the game.

Yeah, I think the gripe of most people, and the rightful gripe of the NFLPA, is the lying about the effects of concussions—as well as the continued dickish waffling over “Durr, well, we just don’t know why a preponderance of our former players have brain damage. Durr, I only know sausage links, not causal ones.”

Wait Wut! Someone actually shares a bed with Eric Trump??!?!?

We now know what the ghost of George C. Scott has been up to.

If you and I were having a face to face conversation, I think we’d totally be in alignment.

Agreed. Stuff like this gets lost in translation typed out online. If you and I were having a face to face conversation, I think we’d totally be in alignment.

I think I just slightly disagree with how you phrased it.

Dr. King was assassinated because he began to advocate for socialism. What is more threatening to the status quo, a black man who knows he is black or a black man who knows that his other lower-class brothers and sisters also suffer due to being poor?

That is legit the same person.

Of course, in men’s rooms it’s quite common to be asked to move to another toilet when someone wants to use the one you’re on. Happens to me literally all the time. So this lady is courageously calling attention to the huge cultural divide between men’s bathrooms and women’s bathrooms.
