Is it weird that what I find most bizarre about this is the fact that she doesn’t even have kids? I think I’m fucking my 3 and 7 year old up almost daily but she is over here claiming her mothering is so magic that she’d change the course of history. I think she should write a book!

Lots of cops commit DV themselves. They know what to look for. That’s how they know to look the other way.

“When a white woman goes missing, the world drops everything. We are done with this valuation.”

This is literally the plot of all 60 seasons of Law & Order SVU or whatever.

Bumble is also a pretty accurate description of this investigation.

Y’ALL, don’t jump to conclusions.  This is a white, and by extension nice, man. Despite the fact that he admits to spending the entire window of time when she could have been killed alone with her.

That older black guy would have been dead, let's face it.

There are so many what the fucks in this story, starting with not telling the family about her death and the fact that a cop with a connection to her Bumble date was allowed to be involved in the investigation. It won’t bring Lauren back but I hope her family sue the shit out of the police department and win.

I was completely unsurprised when I read that the first detective allegedly “has some connection” to LaFountain.  That tracks. (Although I also wouldn’t be surprised if a white officer simply gave a white suspect the benefit of the doubt and didn’t pursue an investigation based purely on feeling that said white guy as

“Black women don’t get the same treatment that Gabby Petito got,

How a stranger from a dating site isn’t the first person to suspect and grill blows my mind. It’s like a bad movie it’s so obvious. Straight up negligence.

Better late than never, I suppose, but jesus fucking christ I’m so tired of this shit. You cannot tell me that if the races had been reversed—if a young white woman was reported dead by her older, black date—that the police would have done nothing. That black man would have been down at the police station so fast.

I nearly threw up when I read the quote that starts “To extract maximum value from music assets...”

I’m not big on her music (can take it or leave it), but I do like her play on this.

I don’t understand why pro choice folks engage in this debate. Arguing that there should be exceptions for rape and incest is a losers game because essentially you are admitting that there are more and less worthy abortions! No, all abortions should be legal! This kind of division is a race to the bottom and a trick

“And I said, ‘Yes, and more than that I’ve got that client.’ I’ve got a client who was raped by an uncle when she was 13 years old, had the child; she finished high school, finished college and got a master’s degree. That child she would have aborted finished high school, finished college and now has a master’s

Ahh yes, Columbus and Reagan. Both men who didn't know where they were or what was going on. Bless.

Maggie Nichols’ name should come up more. She doesn’t get enough credit for her role in whistle-blowing because she’s not as famous as the others (because she got black-balled from the Olympics for whistle-blowing). Press coverage shouldn’t ignore her as well.

“they are being asked to debase themselves in front of yet another group”...

Their body language in the photo above really speaks volumes. They all have their hands and arms clasped in front of their bodies. Feeling unsafe, anxious, and tense. These women have been through enough.
