Why is this not more cheaper esp compared to a pilot? Isn/t this supposed to sit in between the cr-v and pilot?

I love how these look, however I sat in these and other volvo wagons at an auto show and the transmission/drive train tunnel is HUGE. The middle seat in any of these cars is unusable and it’s at best a 4 seater.
