I approve of this article.

Actually I'd say Wolfenstein 3D had a way bigger impact on me than Doom. I plyed the living hell out of the shareware version I had copied on some old floppy disk back in the 90's. It's still a pretty awesome shooter given it's limitations but admittedly not as awesome as it's quicker, smoother and scarier cousin.

This films is begging for a proper R2 release over here. Suprisingly hard to get hold of. I did watch it a few years back after getting a copy from a friend and it is a much-watch. It's like something Phillip K Dick would have scripted had he been around at the time.

Matt Berry is like the British version of H Jon. Benjamin. Every line he gets is gold thanks to his delivery.

Whenever I catch TV Burp I can't help but giggle a little at "There's only one way to settle this… FIIIIIIIIGHT!"

Would Malcolm Tucker's ability to create highly inventive insults and ways to tell people to just "fuck off" in The Thick Of It/In The Loop count as a running joke? If not then fuckity-bye.

The only code I need is the Konami code, brah.

HEEEEYEAAAAARGH That's what I meant.

And to think my jams were Limp Bizkit and Wheatus back then. Dark times all round…

The Black Album selling over 16 million copies? YOU KNOW IT'S SAD BUT TRUUUUUUE.

I remember seeing this as a kid myself. I used to devour ANYTHING from Japan at the time, and even though I was way more into Dragonball Z and Gundam Wing while my little sister was the one that watched Sailor Moon, I often found myself hanging around to watch it. I mean I totally understood that this cartoon was

Eh, I can see both sides of the argument, but really the best thing coming out of this is there is a discussion about the representation of transgendered people in the media which I think needs to be had. Honestly couldn't name one mainstream actor off the top of my head who is trans and only a handful of musicians.

Or maybe you didn't take my comment seriously enough!
…look, it's been a long day.

Didn't he say that because he didn't know what house to shout or something along those lines? hah. I'd rather have Pod for king though, the massive stud he is.

Just as you finally get Blue Swede out of your head after a whole month, this trailer comes along and replaces them with Doctor & The Medics. Damn you, Marvel marketing!

"Winter is coming."
"A Lannister always pays his debts."
"You cannot give up on the gravy."

I've been making an effort to watch as many cult films as possible lately. This weekend I got round to watching Withnail & I, which is often cited as being hilarious. I think Richard E Grant and Paul McGann play their respective roles to perfection but it was actually sadder than I thought it would be. Also it's

Unless you're Peter Steele, who used to hold and play a double bass in the same way most bass players play a standard bass around the time Bloody Kisses came out. Christ, that guy was huge.

The whole "Hello Mr. Burns, this is your mother/Son, this is Mrs. Burns" bit still cracks me up. "You've been a bad son, Monteeeeehl!"

Show me someone who wouldn't want to watch that and I'll show you a liar.
