I am almost positive that Ryan Wilder is a fake name used for the casting calls. In fact, I bet most of the details in that call were fake. This happens.

Okay, you have got my attention, show

Sportsmaster? Seriously? This Casey Jones wannabe has no chance of actually being intimidati...

... holy shit!

Well done show. You got everything right this week - even Mike. Well, maybe not everything right. Amy Smart continues to be underused. But beyond that, everything in this one was great.

It

I’m not convinced Mike has a mom. If they revealed he was a 90’s kid character that spontaneously combusted into life during a JSA adventure and got dumped him on Pat, I’d believe it.

Well, Icicle is the one who took out Starman. I think we can assume the other ISA members with powers dealt with Flash and Green Lantern. Tigress and Sportsmaster don’t have any powers and they would’ve killed these kids if STRIPE hadn’t showed up.

Artemis is one of my favorite characters from Young Justice, so I’m hoping they do her justice here. Also curious if her mother Paula will end up paralyzed like she was on that show, and if Artemis’s sister Cheshire will show up.

As a long time JSA fan, starting from the All-Star Squadron and Infinity Inc comics in the early 80s, here’s my hot takes on the episode:

Nice to see Courtney’s mom get more to do and her step brother not being a mini-douche.

Loved the mini twist involving the Gambler’s cat. Hoping his granddaughter

They are unapologetically goofy as hell. It’s actually admirable that they didn’t try to do some kind of leathery modern upgrade and basically kept the designs from the 40's.

Wouldn’t one of them have been for the Wizard?

Granted, this isn’t my genre, but are all their costumes this silly?

If we’re tossing around Special Guest Vampire ideas, why not have Nadja’s old girlfriend from California stop by?

Since I’m not a Harley Quinn fan at all, I really did not expect to like this series as much as I do, but between the rapid-fire LOL jokes, superb animation and voice acting, and the mature themes that are woven into the otherwise cartoonish plotlines, this is one of my favorite DC cartoons of all time.

He is SO GOOD as Clayface. As I mentioned on a What We Do in the Shadows post, he reminds me of an even more over-the-top Laszlo.

I definitely dug too how it wasn’t a “Joker redemption arc” so much as a “Joker is still very much a piece of work, but he’s a piece of work who now has a family he genuinely loves.”

She is nothing if not reckless & insane. She makes Jen Pierce look measured. It’s a pity this is on Earth 2, because I would love to see those two meet.

Maisie left to pursue filmmaking behind the camera. I hope she achieves her dreams!

I won’t see this until the CW showing tomorrow but based on the previews this feels like a terrible idea. We don’t know anything about Yolanda (And neither does Courtney for that matter) and yet they want to rush and give her a costume? We’re still figuring out Stargirl and Stripes as heroes and people, it’s a bit too

Hey, whatever gets us Maisie back.

Courtney putting together a team of untrained kids to be the new JSA is completely reckless and insane. I love it.

There was some quick misdirection there, with the kid talking about how he thought his magic ability was improving.
