The Leftovers got (much) better after season 1. Not a comparison. Just mentioning it happens.
I'm going to pretend THIS was the point, which I thought worked very well, and not a cheap/obvious set-up for high schoolers. They and The OA really DID do something.
It took me to this point to understand your point. (I am sorta dumb.)
I felt sorta foolish to think they were going to act terrestrially.
I won't get cold feet!! Ugh. Wanted Nora to say, "Why should I give a F@#$ what she thinks of me?" Was it really in-character for her to respond as she did. Maybe better to show toughness and play along instead of angering them if she wanted to go. But still.
