If it has to be a Turbo, just spend a little more and get a 997. 996 Turbos have already been appreciating somewhat (at least over here in Germany), but 997 Turbos have been holding their value for the last 3 years. Wait, $3k in repair costs / $12k in total car costs is bankruptcy? If it’s a regular stream of $3k repair bills then sure. But this just seems like a one-time bundle of deferred maintenance that needs to be done on any older European car bought from a stranger.
