    I love all these stories everyone's telling.  

    The Gorey cover is excellent (heck, all his Bellairs covers are wonderful), but I've always had a lot of affection (and a bit of nostalgic shudders) for this cover:

    Not only that, but Peter specifically calls attention to it.  As soon as I saw it, I started wondering if they'd actually kill Ella at some point, in order to set up a Walter-like scenario - but I figured if they did, it would be after halfway through the season, at the very least.

    I, too, figured it would be a scavenger-hunt across the eastern seaboard, with the discovery of one tape leading to the next.

    I'd really, really, really, really love it if the rest of the season features Walter pulling out an old Fringe case and using it to beat the Observers.  The final season becoming a series of reverse-MOTWs would just be so awesome.

    Of my pet theories as to how this season is ultimately going to end,

    If there's any consolation, it's that Walter/Peter-mirroring ironies are about to abound.  But yeah, this hurts on a number of levels.
