The puppy bears a close resemblance to the one snugged up to my legs right now. Once he’s a little more mature, he’s gonna be a therapy dog. His purpose in life appears to be to cheer people up.
You will, eventually, have an epiphany. Or a breaking point. Or just wake up and say, “not today.”
I had a long and specific answer...essentially, your post stirred up a few feelings. I decided puppy cuddles were a better option at the moment.
Um, see my above post to Ms. Kai. You also need/deserve/should always be rolling in some puppy kisses, sugary carbs, a good drink, and some soothing, soothing Idris Elba.
You do understand that if he had voted no, he still could have given that speech? He was urging for a return to civilized discourse where work across the aisle could actually be achieved. If he had voted “No” he would have actually forced that to happen. They would have had nowhere to go but consensus building, if…
Today’s episode of “Stupid or Liar” focuses on the death of Justine Ruszczyk (Her name was not Damond. It was going to be Damond after she was married...
Yep, white. Not a tiny bit of offense taken.
My Great Aunt lived to 105 - retaining a really solid chunk of her mental and physical faculties - only to see her husband, son-in-law, and my Mom (who she considered a daughter-in-law) die inside 18 months of each other about two years before she herself died.

I have had two people in my life with brain tumors, so as much as I dislike McCain’s politics (seriously, he talks a more-centrist game yet votes the fucking party line almost every damn time - be honest that you’re licking the GOP’s boots, man), I had sympathy for him and his family. Brain tumors are horrifying, and…
It’s clearly not FOR me.
For me on the Tomi Lahren thing, it’s this. She is horrible. (And I really loved how she glammed herself up for that interview. Like wearing a low-cut dress and a statement necklace made what she was saying more glamorous. Ugh.)
Unrelated to this story but not to this blog - are you on Twitter? I’m not, and this is definitely of relevance to this blog/community. Could you share if you are?
Here’s Colin Baker’s full piece about Jodie Whittaker’s casting. Definitely worth a read.
I would also like to note, god-damnit, that as a society, we get to keep the Toxic Cheeto at 1600, but we lose Jim Vance. Don’t tell me there’s a higher power, ‘cause that shit ain’t right.
I know, me too. #FuckCancer.
I had to go to the gym. I loved Jim Vance so much. He WAS The News to me.
Angela - I don’t know if this is something The Root would cover (Vance is primarily known in DC), but this is so sad. The news broadcasts at NBC-Washington will be so much the lesser for Jim Vance’s passing.
