Counter-nitpick: I never specified US dollars. I was actually spending Canadian dollars, and it came out to closer to $40 Canadian, if I recall correctly.
This pricing is why I’m conflicted about free-to-play games. When I love a game, I want to support it. But the pricing structure for these games almost always feels like a rip-off*, and I don’t want to support those ridiculous prices and encourage it.
It’s still available on Twitter:
Now we just hope this doesn’t meet the fate of Crimson Echoes (a Chrono Trigger romhack to turn it into a sequel) and get shut down right before release. *cross fingers*
Another factor I haven’t seen anyone mention in the comments which can kill VR is poor shading. Lighting is still one of the hardest things to get right in games, thanks to how it scatters off of anything it hits, meaning you don’t have to deal with just a finite number of light sources, but consider the entire area…
I did once see a Kickstarter where the stretch goals were all basically “We make more money.” Forget what it was for, though.
Oh, you’re a whiny child alright. The only difference is that you’re whining about perceived whining, rather than whining about something legitimate. Much better. </eyeroll>
Even if people don’t get paid, it does set a precedent* that companies can’t go taking away advertised features from their products, which is a win in my book.
If no one is being robbed of anything of any monetary value, where is the crime?
First of all, could you clarify, what part of what I said was that in response to?
1. Okay, let’s repeal the second amendment.
Bah! CoD: Neanderthal Warfare is where it’s at.

Well, if you have a PS4, there’s always remote play...
It’s probably an issue of how easy it is to port. Consoles have power to spare, but it would take work to get it running well on handhelds. I’m sure it’s possible, but it’s almost certainly not going to be as easy.

There’s also simply the fact that Amy Winehouse made music that was actually great. I am of the belief that it’s not so much that black audiences don’t want white artists exploring a black sound: the issue is that white artists can be bad while employing black style and still be successful.

It’s an unfortunate part of human nature that when people see a conflict, they tend to most easily empathize with the person they see as most like them. I’ve seen this happen a lot with men when it comes to rape accusations - they can’t imagine being the victim of the rape, but they can image being falsely accused of…
Bethesda can probably claim Safe Harbor protection under the DMCA. It’s the same reason that eg. Paramount can’t sue YouTube if one of their movies is uploaded there in full, but instead has to send a DMCA takedown notice. As long as YouTube complies with all legitimate takedown notices, they’re legally in the clear.
Because when FinalVent made their original comment calling those people out, you were the one to jump in and say that this isn’t censorship. I’m pointing out that this is perfectly in line with what they’ve decried as censorship in the past, so FinalVent’s call out of them should stand.
