Ooh, my pet peeve with that is collision avoidance that warns me that I’m about to hit something in front of the car.

You keep bringing feelings to a fact fight. I do it too with these systems, but we pay the war once car accidents became a thing.
Yup.. Saw a Chrysler 300 with Hellcat badges the other day.. laughed and shook my head, driver looked quite embarrassed.
I hear you. However, it has definitely saved me more than once when I was distracted by someone in the next lane doing something dangerous and the person in front of me stopped short.
Let’s be real though. Consider all the lifted trucks out there... it’s probably not much of a stretch to say that most never go off-road... I almost respect* a lifted truck with road tires more than a lifted truck with knobby tires because at least they’re fitting.
No that’s ugly and old school. A better solution is the directional turn signals like the ones on Mustangs and Audi A4s.
On the multi-lane roads I drive on, if you slow down a little and leave more space, somebody in another lane will promptly swerve into the gap. It’s not even because they want to get ahead; they’ll do this even when their lane was moving faster than yours.
See, there’s the issue. You’re assuming anyone behind the wheel has common sense.
I started with carbon fiber hoods. Blacked hoods is the poor man’s CF hood.
Why? Brake lights should be dedicated and red. Turn signals should be separate and amber.
I mean... you have to be basically superhuman to get through flight school/be allowed to fly a jet in combat. Fighter jet pilots are not on the same level as the average, or even the best, car drivers on the road.
Also woefully underestimating the number of people who tailgate without thinking, or paying attention to what’s ahead. This is surprising for someone who lives in the Los Angeles area. Plus, I believe Mazda’s system (and probably other systems like it) will automatically apply the brakes.
That’s a beautiful gauge pod.
Seems like you’ve completely missed the point of HUDs.
But my opinion, which is shared by exactly none of my colleagues, is that HUDs are more harmful than helpful.
