Wow. Now I just feel super old. I hadn’t realized how effective the purge of tobacco advertising from the cultural zeitgeist has been. I grew up in the nineties (I’m a Millennial, not a boomer, thankyouverymuch), and while Joe was on the way out, there were still a ton of parodies floating around, e.g.
Heck, broker a deal with the New Stratos folks for when the world’s supply of F430s runs low.
I can’t wait to see what body kits come out for this. Once used/salvage Corvettes start hitting the market, it’s just going to be a matter of time before we have Corvarris (Ferrvettes?) and Lamborvettes (Corvborghinis?). Which is disgusting not only given the quality of her writing but the fact that she’s often covering the stuff no one else on staff…
I’d read an analysis claiming that this was likely just something they were using for pre-season testing, basically allowing them to sample a bunch of different configurations without having to bring the car to the garage between laps, and that they’d probably take it out before race day.
I mean, it’s quite clearly an English language adaptation of Aniara. That’s definitely where they’re going here.
For those in the UK, access to a UK VPN or... other means of watching British TV, Chris Harris drove a Renault 4 across Nepal in the most recent Top Gear Christmas Special.
Okay, but someone please tell me: was the tax on handbags ever repealed?

“Treachery, Faith and the Great River” is one of my favorite DS9 episodes because it shows realistically the need for trade in a “post-scarcity” universe. Because some things will ALWAYS be scarce—whether it’s an antique baseball card, access to a celebrity’s desk, or even just TIME where poor O’Brien only has two…
