OF COURSE Musk wants to bring back indentured servitude. When that fails to drum up an adequately sized workforce, I'm sure he'll get some countries to agree to send him convicted criminals.

Ferdinand Piëch was a car nut too. Honestly I think if you're running a major multinational automaker in this century and you DON'T have a deep passion for what you're making, you owe it to the industry to get the hell out of the way.

You mean you don't want to try to piece together the screenshots in the background of the title photo?

Preferring IHOP to Kerbey Lane while living in Austin is an unpardonable sin. Thanks for helping me feel less upset at her leaving.

On the one hand, I’m devastated to see Alanis go. On the other, I’m glad SOMEONE listened to me and made her a presenter on the newly rebooted Top Gear USA.

I judge anyone who bought a Charger or Challenger during the Plum Crazy run who got their car in a *different* color. Feel similarly about Lime Rock Green for the Corvette.

The first series of (Clarkson/Hammond) Top Gear included them having Lotus tune a Lada Riva. The results were incredible.

I also think I saw what looked like an Italian supercar but the badge was a crossed pair of flags. Been doing a bunch of Googling trying to figure out what it could possibly be with no luck.

I'm waiting for it to come out that he WAS prepared to name names at that press conference but changed his mind at the last minute to do that weird rambly rant as part of a deal with Japan not to go after his wife.

He was CEO of two of the largest auto conglomerates in the world, “whacked” on at least partially political grounds, and then fled Japan in an instrument case. People I know who can’t even tell a Versa from an Altima know about this guy and are talking about him.

Yeah, but you don’t have to Beruit about it.

God, that is so petty. Can you imagine if the US launched investigations into people’s trips to other countries?

Ugh, I guess you snooze you lose—been waiting for a good night to watch this, and it looks like the video’s been taken down! Digging in on their official site:

I drove through Miami a few months ago and was extremely disappointed not to see a single car more exotic than a Tesla Model S. Bad luck I guess...

My favorite sighting was a McLaren waiting in line for valet parking at a shopping mall.

I work out in McLean. McLean / Tyson’s has good cars. Ferraris are not uncommon, Aston Martin has a dealership out that way, and I gotta say I felt tremendous schadenfreude seeing the McLaren stuck in traffic on 66 from my Silver Line train.

I keep meaning to make my way out there, but I've been failing at getting my butt out of bed on a Saturday morning.

I don’t have to travel to see rad cars—Old Town Alexandria is home to a DeLorean, a Porsche 944 and 930, at least two RX-8s, an Series III (I think) Land Rover, an MR-2, a Lotus Exige, and plus there’s that classic NSX that’s zoomed past me once or twice.* Yes, I’ve seen more exotic cars at auto shows (DC Auto Show is

But Hop does get better. He just can’t get better as fast as a level grinding PC can.

Just came across this over the weekend.
