I hated Fanboost when I first started watching. The fact that the same big-name drivers got an extra boost of power race after race seemed so unfair.

It was definitely a bit ridiculous last year when—was it two or three?—races in row were red flagged for a period of time longer than the race itself. Furthermore, the M8GTE, as far as I can tell, has NEVER had yellow headlights. WEC and IMSA both have mandated clear headlights for GTLM / GTE from 2018 on. GTD still gets yellow lights, but the M8 is decidedly not GTD.
