I was peeved about it until I realized--these are basically just portable move tutors.

Apparently there is a minority view that held that the team orders were known (and agreed to) from the start—Miles and Hulme were supposed to be the “rabbits,” goading the Ferraris into setting too fast a pace so they’d break down. Miles’ car was thus considered disposable and wasn’t expected to finish the race. The

I assume "carbon neutral" production just refers to the assembly at the plant and does not extend to any of the suppliers. Still a massive accomplishment and a step in the right direction, though.

And it's worth remembering that Ferrari isn't even part of FCA (soon to be PFCSA?) anymore, so aside from some rumored engine supply deals Maserati has nothing to steal.

Now playing

One missing ingredient from this analysis: they forgot to include Cara Gee

We’re saying the same thing—you don’t want to have your motor spinning at a billion RPM because even electric motors have a “redline.” But then if that was the only consideration, why wouldn’t you just have a single gear rated for top speed?

manual gearboxes are totally fucking pointless with electric motors.

Formula E originally mandated that the cars have 5-speeds. Even now that they’ve removed that requirement, a lot of teams still use versions of that gearbox.

it’s hard to justify mandatory bike helmet laws without advocating for mandatory pedestrian helmet laws, too

Now I want to know if they found a buyer.

2021 Celica confirmed?

Forgive my ignorance, but do people really buy these cars to be garage queens? I get that they’re rare, but they’re CHALLENGERS. They’re not exactly the height of style or sophistication. I just can’t picture one sitting in a carpeted all white garage while a piano player softly serenades it and the owner gazes on,

Is this TaxiMagic? I used it for yeas before I started using Uber/Lyft. I thought it was great and completely negated all the negatives I’d had with taking taxis in the past. London Black Cabs has (had?) their own service called Hail-O which operates similarly. I’m forever disappointed that Uber has raised unseen

Thank you for proving my point.

Makes sense to me—that way when some hooligan pries the first one off, you’ve got a spare signifier to indicate that your car is a Merc. You wouldn’t want someone to mistake your car for a Lexus or (god forbid) a Genesis.

Yeah, can we talk about how amazing Albon is at Red Bull? Dead last all the way to 5th; should manage to secure 6th in the WDC even though he’s only been with RB since Spa (sad for Carlos/McLaren though). And this is his rookie season!

Wasted headline opportunity:

I loved during the post race interview when Brundle asked Verstappen about passing Hamilton at the end of the race, and Max (petulantly?) replied, “Well, there was a yellow flag.”

Bottas proved mathematically this year that he is World Champion material and would have earned the title if Lewis had decided to retire after making the Fangio Five. Of course, how many drivers in the aughts would have been won WDCs if not for Schumacher?
