Weird anecdotes aside, it looks like the Countryman is rated pretty highly for safety.

Mini/BMW supposedly sorted out their reliability issues (IIRC they were mostly CVT-related) around 2014, but I’m not sure what the first year is for reliable Countrymen, though.
Seriously? Is that just some weird trim level nonsense? Or does the LED interfere with the active sensing?
PSA: Guinness are actually a bunch of greedy, autocrat-enabling asshats.
Have you ever seen a new Merc drive by at night? The illuminated star looks incredible. Wouldn’t call it “subtle,” but I’d personally throw on a few other adjectives (“futuristic”, “sick AF”).
Yeah, I don’t think there’s anything you could possibly do in 1999 that would make the McLaren F1 not extremely cool and desirable in 2019.
My office mate in grad school back in 2010 tried to convince me to mine bitcoins. Instead, I devoted my spare CPU and GPGPU cycles to World Community Grid to help cure cancer and some such. Such a waste...
Yeah, but my memo to Honda would just be: "Bring back the S2000."
cc Mazda: y’all need to bring back Sunbust Yellow for the ND Miata—objectively the best Miata color ever (though Merlot/Purple is my personal fave).
Yeeesh. Bad joke or honest mistake, it’s not every day you make a fuckup with $20MM consequences.
I figured “lair” was your artistic flair. No way a company would SERIOUSLY describe their architectural ambitions with a word that is exclusively connected with spiders and supervillains.
I just hope the FIA are as generous with BOP to the Corvettes next year as they were to Ford in 2016 (there I said it).
Hot take: if it were truly a more grown up GT car, it would be a 2+2.
Their job? Do you pay a monthly fee to read Jalopnik? Are your venture capital dollars contingent on their publishing X articles per month about Y different motorsports?
Jalopnik I think covered the first race. It’s been a pain to try to actually watch the races in the US (even on delay like I had to do with Formula E).
It was a lot more inspiring through when they talked about the grand prize being a guaranteed drive in a feeder series though...
Wait, you have a cable package that actually aired the race? I can't even find a friggin' YouTube replay.
You’re literally describing the MR2, except wrong Japanese auto company. And while I kinda feel like the (Mazda-made) AZ-1 is a legitimate supercar, its legally mandated cap of 63 HP would argue different.
