Cool, glad to hear the people at Mojo came to their senses eventually

You’re opinion isn’t unpopular - hating Radiohead is the “new cool.” But why bother reading an article about a band you hate and then leaving a comment spreading your negativity? I despise country music, so I just don’t ever read about or comment on it. Why do Radiohead haters so desperately need everyone to know they

Especially when all the criticism boils down to “they’re overrated because they suuuuuck” with nothing beyond the “they suuuuuck” part. Shit, at least defend your statement with something.

The amount of haters is surprising. I’ve seen Radiohead 3 times and each time has been really, really wonderful. I’m genuinely surprised there are people that have been underwhelmed. I understand perhaps BELIEVING that you would be underwhelmed, maybe because their music isn’t your thing or perhaps because their tunes

That’s not an unpopular opinion, that’s straight from the edgy iconoclast starter pack.

You forgot the part where because you don’t like it, no one really does, and they must just be pretending to like it to look cool.

I wouldn’t call Radiohead prog at all though. They’re one of the great examples of the post-modern band (working primarily in pastiche, pulling in influences from jangle pop, grunge, post-hardcore, goth, folk, krautrock, electronics, IDM, Jazz, etc etc to create a unique hodgepodge), but I don’t think that much of

I don’t like the thing, and therefore it is objectively a bad thing. I am actually unable to comprehend someone having different personal taste when it comes to the consumption of art and culture than I do, therefore their taste must be inherently bad, while mine is true and good.

They are so dull, I don’t even understand why people like them.”

Being an asshole to people who like something you don’t is the most hipster thing of all!

Yeah, when I saw the headline I knew the haters would be here. To them I say: whatever. There are plenty of bands I don’t like (some critically acclaimed and popular) but I don’t seek out articles about them to rant about how overrated they are.

Saw them at Bonnaroo in 2012, it was the best damn show I’ve ever seen.

I love Radiohead, and couldn’t care less if you like them. Not everything is about you, after all.

This comment is significantly more hipster than anything that was said in the article.

Good to see a lot of the comments are, predictably, a lot of edgy takes on how overrated Radiohead is. Never change AV Club!

Think The Sopranos—schlubby, blue collar protagonist, beautiful wife, two kids—but a three camera sitcom this time, with more catchphrases and lazy innuendo.

So the ones in this thread letting everyone know how cool they are for not liking a popular band are somehow NOT “hipsters”? What does the word even mean to you?

Yeesh, lots of haters in the comments here. To you I say, “Shut up.” To this article I say,Hell yeah!”

Calling someone a hipster for liking Radiohead is basically the equivalent of calling someone a hipster for liking the Beatles. Hipster used to have some sort of a meaning, now it’s just a term for people who care about stuff you don’t.

Die hard Radiohead stan here who was at night 1, it was awesome this is my review.
