I fled the earth. Humans followed.

I think he would be perfect. Last (and only) movie I saw him in was The Martian, and minor as his part was, he killed it.

FUCK YEAH! The classiest man in the galaxy is COMING BACK!

Gosh darn it all to heck... I’m really starting to look forward to this series, despite it being on CBS’ streaming service.

I’m.... actually really in favor of this idea. I figure HBO has both Game of Thrones and Sesame Street, so a series of children’s medieval fantasy books falls somewhere in between, right?

I don’t know who Ann Marie Macdonald is, but she takes some awesome photographs.

The first was fantastic, and especially impressive compared to the VHS miniseries I was used to (you mean they have an ACTUAL (cgi) beaver instead of a man in a huge beaver costume?? The future is now!).

Wasn’t really excited for this before... but this looks fantastic.

I feel as though the trailer could have been much better with a different choice of music. The escalating bombastic “Bwaaa!”s are losing their impact. Maybe if they’d gone for something softer... a creepy vibe rather than an epic thriller feel... but I’m no expert.

Fantastic! Always good to have more dark and depressing yet believable visions of the future (and I do mean that, Black Mirror is a brilliant series).

I liked the video, though it would have been nice if he chose a specific scene as an example of the problem, and a specific scene from a different film as a counterexample. At least, I think that might have made it easier for non-filmmakers (such as myself) to understand how to correct the problem of focusing only on

That actually sounds like a better format... like other commentors have noted, a lot of the appeal wasn’t the main story, but rather all the little interactions between the characters. I think a series gives them more time to build and explore those relationships.

I think you summed up the reasons for and against it pretty well. I know it’s selfish, but I’m not sure I want this movie because it makes us more viewers than participants.

C’mon, don’t tell me your teenage years weren’t filled with hella cringe-worthy dialogue!

I know this sentiment is irrational, but I don’t want this to be made, because the game itself was so important to me.

Everything about you makes me happy. Your name, you pointing me towards free stuff... everything. BloggyMcBlogBlog, you’re an internet hero.

Hey O’Malley, this might sound a bit weird, but thanks for going easy on the first guy. I have some experience with religious fundamentalism, though perhaps to a lesser degree, and I know that the OP has some messed up views, but to me, his views aren’t that far off from what I used to believe, and I feel kinda sorry

I thought I remember reading awhile back about Kristin Stewart acting in a 1984 adaption... I haven’t seen the previous film adaption, but for some reason, the scene at 0:51 where everyone is sitting in a room looking at a screen reminds me of the book... I think it was the hour of hate or something.

Is this as big as I think it is? Because this sounds fucking incredible. Somebody give these scientists a high five.

Your comment reminds me of a webcomic I found awhile back, dealing with the same ideas. After a quick google search, I found it. It’s a long post, but I think you might like it: http://existentialcomics.com/comic/1
