That is still what is being taught in my nieces’ schools. I also see textbooks posted regularly with the same ish.

I completely agree with this logic. Unloved German cars don’t reach this kind of mileage.

You’re not wrong that it absolutely could be used up, because perhaps the previous 50k miles is when it was abused. However, I think it is a bit more likely that the 243k mile example has been better maintained and is in better shape that a 100k miles example, because somebody had to do that maintenance repeatedly,

My old man...a Porsche tech did a clutch job in a Countach around 1987ish...said it sucked to drive, but again he was a Porsche man :)

Authentic (-ish) Countach looks, and a Ford powertrain that's more reliable and easier/cheaper to maintain than the real deal? That's a winner as far as I'm concerned. I wonder how the performance stacks up. Did he exactly copy the suspension setup, or tweak it for driveability/performance...?

... Fold like an Accordion...

Because economics has NOTHING to do with this kind of obsession. The obsession is the bringing into being something that DID NOT EXIST before your brain and hands got to work on it. You mention the 'real lambo engine'...where's the dividing line? It's got real lambo parts where alternatives couldn't be easily sourced.

A hand-crafted work of art that's been etched into automotive folklore? I would not judge anyone who wanted this Countach over the real thing.

Is it wrong that I'd rather have Ken's car than a real Countach?
