You earther people have gotten increasingly weird.

I’m a big fan of 4wd, and when it’s needed, it is needed. That being said, if you don’t live where it snows and avoid driving it in the mud, 2wd is more practical. It’s cheaper and gets better mileage.
No 4X4 is a disappointment but you can get around the airbag problem by not crashing.
Trucks were selling like crazy even when gas was over $4
I’ve noticed the same thing, unless it’s a 10 year old hatchback or compact single cab pick-up, they seem to hate the auto industry.
It makes sense when you think about it. Never in history has one type of vehicle fit every possible “want”. Want a family vehicle? check. Want a work vehicle? check. Want grocery getter? check, with a whole lotta groceries! Want something that can be stylized however you want? check Want something that still looks…
This. I really wish David or Andrew were writing all the content here. They seem to be the only balanced automotive viewpoints of the writing staff. Its like everyone else hates cars or car culture. I have always loved Jalopnik for its irreverence and counter culture attitude, but it seems like most of the writers…
This would make sense if they weren’t also selling well before.
A full size station wagon will still only have the same cargo space as a large crossover anyway.
A lot of people who actually need trucks may still need to buy them, even now.
This is a Truck Yeah article right?
Trucks (and crossovers) are big, comfortable, skirt CAFE, and don’t get horrible mileage anymore. They also cruise at highway speeds without issue. They will sell regardless of how “cool” they are. Wagons and minivans were never cool, they provided cheap practicality for families, which is why their popularity went…
and even after that. Pickups have always sold well in America.
You’re also forgetting that pickups can handle shitty roads better than any car can.
The Raptor is currently the king of the offroad image game. But if you want a high power, ultra reliable race engine, the small block Chevy (not even LS!) is the king, and has been for decades.
Without a pool of comps from which to pull, I have no idea how to value this vehicle, but that raises the question of where the seller came up with this price. I don’t think there is a rational case to be made to spend $8500 on this. A buyer would need to want this beyond any rationality... and have $8500 to spend on…
Please dont buy dumb brodozers with knobby tires to drive around stripmalls and tract home subdivisions. Thanks!
That looks like it has been patinaed , not natural . Fake patina is so stupid . Not a big fan of patina but I would consider preserving this look on that old Ford , it looks kind of cool .
Nissan took the Armada out of the lineup for years, and didn’t reintroduce it until the recent cosmetic redesign on the QX80/QX56. We have a QX80 and it’s been a great car.
Patina looks like shit. It’s a poor excuse for not fixing the rust. I get it. Paint is expensive, but, I’d roll around in a spotted primer heap before I’d let it get as rusted as the truck in the picture.
