I'll be playing (finishing?) UNCHARTED 4 this weekend. Been a busy week, so I haven't made much progress there… currently on Chapter 17. Also, still progressing very slowly in BRAVELY SECOND, where I'm currently working on the first sidequest in Chapter One. Hopefully things will be calming down soon at work so I can

This weekend, I'll be continuing to climb, swing, jump and shoot in UNCHARTED 4. I've made it through the first eleven or twelve chapters and thought I might be finished by now, but things got crazy at work this week and I just haven't had a chance to play for the past few days. Anyway, I'm very impressed so far, and

This weekend, I'll be checking out UNCHARTED 4 (and I'm very excited about it)… but first, I'm wrapping up the UNCHARTED 3 playthrough that I started a few days ago. It's definitely the most uneven of the original three, but it's still a lot of fun and has some enormous highlights. Anyway, hoping to polish that

…you're right. I'm thinking of the boat chase. I remember jumping over that ramp to try and reach the helicopter and failing it over and over again. Don't know why I remembered it as a motorcycle. An incredibly aggravating mission, in any case.

The last mission in GRAND THEFT AUTO 4. Ridiculously long, no checkpoints and it trolls you with that tricky motorcycle chase sequence towards the end. I never did finish it.

The music in general was terrific in this game - probably my favorite score From has served up since Dark Souls 1. There were multiple boss fights where I found the music almost distractingly terrific… right off the top of my head, the Vordt fight comes to mind.

I think last week's WAYPTW went up at around 9 AM - I was looking for it early in the morning, too, but it didn't pop up until later.

I played Default when it first came out, too, so there's been enough of a break that I have no problem with the idea of doing this for another 60-80 hours. I do remember being a little burnt out on Default when it concluded, but that was mostly due to the repetitive nature of the closing stretch.

That was the report I got from a friend who said, "Yeah, the Dancer won't give you much trouble." That fight took me forever to finally beat, though - the Dancer has such a weird, complicated moveset, so it took me a whole lot longer to figure out how to effectively fight it without leaving myself vulnerable to its

He went down pretty quickly for me… but in fairness, he was the second-to-last boss I fought before beating the game, so I might have been overleveled for the fight by that point. Also, a handful of allegedly "easy" bosses - Yhorm the Giant, Crystal Sage, Dancer of the Boreal Valley - killed me quite me quite a few

Yes, I found Smouldering Lake pretty early on and found it a little too intense (even Irithyll of the Boreal Valley seemed like a more appealing option at the time), so I came back to it once I had leveled up a good bit.

I'll be playing DARK SOULS III. I actually beat the game this week, which sort of astonished me - I finished it in 32 hours, which is a good 15 hours faster than I've beaten any other Souls game (Bloodborne included). Maybe it's shorter, maybe it's easier, maybe I'm a bit better at these games now… but whatever the

Bloodborne felt a bit easier than the other Souls games once I got the hang of the combat, but early on, I was convinced it was the hardest. For whatever reason, fast, aggressive combat just isn't my comfort zone (which is probably why I'm terrible at fighting games).

Very interesting! I guess it really is me, then - I haven't gone back and re-played the original Dark Souls, but maybe it would feel easier now. The one thing that does make the earlier Souls games feel a bit easier is the slower combat… I fare better when I have more time to think about what move to make next. My

Like many others, I'll be playing Dark Souls 3. (Minor spoilers ahead.)

Believe it or not: TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN. It's a wretched film, but the enthusiasm of a stranger sitting next to me made it considerably more entertaining than it had any right to be. He was into it the whole time, but when Optimus Prime made his big return late in the movie, he went nuts.

I let a character I really loved die in Fire Emblem: Revelation (spoilers for one mission ahead). I had been more or less plowing through a mission with ease, and as I was nearing the end, a last-minute betrayal by an ally dropped everyone's health to one. I panicked, used all the items and healing spells I could and

The Yoshi Yarn game would make a good follow-up, as it's a bit more difficult than its predecessor. Still kid-friendly and relatively easy by Nintendo platformer standards, though.

I've had a stye in my right eye this week that has been pretty uncomfortable and has made my eye all itchy/watery. Finally seems to be getting better, though. Hope what you've got goes away soon.

Majora's Mask is the last major Zelda title I haven't played (though I own the 3DS version), and the thought of doing busywork over and over again has been a large part of what's kept me from getting to it. Definitely going to give it a go at some point this year, though.
