Yep. As someone who has played all of the Souls games in the old-fashioned sword-n-shield fashion, it took me a long time to get comfortable with Bloodborne's riskier, more aggressive brand of combat.

I found that Dark Souls II was more satisfying the second time (I also played the vanilla version first, then Scholar of the First Sin on PS4). The changes are small, but smart, and the DLC levels add a lot to the experience.

I'm pleased to report that I will be playing DARK SOULS 3 this weekend. I didn't think I'd be able to get to it so soon, but things worked out. I've been playing it since Monday (about ten hours in, just beat the Crystal Sage), and so far I'm really digging it. (Note: mild spoilers for the first few hours of the game

Yeah, same here. Zelda Wii U might be one last beautiful moment for the system, but I'm guessing that it will probably be available on NX as well (thus stealing the Wii U version's thunder, unless it actually plays better on the Wii U).

Hmmm. Sad to hear this is such a frustrating experience. I love the Wii U, but it really seems to be limping to the finish line.

I *wish* I were playing DARK SOULS 3 this weekend, but it looks like that will need to wait for a little while. Instead, I will be continuing my time with FIRE EMBLEM FATES: REVELATION and TWILIGHT PRINCESS HD.

Appreciate the kind words! Yeah, we're currently waiting on some biopsy results: worst-case scenario is that she has some form of cancer, best-case scenario is that she just has a less serious bowel issue. And yeah, it's expensive: the exploratory surgery and the biopsy set us back about $1000, and we still don't know

This weekend, I'll be taking a break from video games. My wife and I are celebrating our tenth anniversary, and we had initially planned to take a little weekend trip. However, a combination of unexpected car repairs and one of our cats having sudden medical problems pretty much depleted our vacation fund. So, in an

I believe Tower of the Gods is a Wind Waker temple. I just finished the Lakebed Temple, though it also felt a bit longer than the two that preceded it.

This weekend, I'll probably be wrapping up my playthrough of FIRE EMBLEM FATES: CONQUEST - just completed Chapter 23. I have to admit, turning off permadeath midway through was probably a good idea - I'm still doing my best to keep everyone alive each battle, but I've experienced some really cheap deaths that probably

At the very least, you can say you held out longer than I did - I'm on Chapter 19 now and I switched two or three chapters ago.

This weekend, I'll be continuing my journey through FIRE EMBLEM FATES: CONQUEST. I have a confession to make. I… I… uh… I changed my playthrough from classic to casual. *looks down at shoes* I was doing pretty well, and then I got to one mission that just kept turning into a bloodbath. After multiple retries, I caved.

I'm on Chapter 13 of FIRE EMBLEM FATES: CONQUEST, which is certainly living up to its reputation as a more challenging affair than BIRTHRIGHT. I have to say that the story is a bit more compelling right off the bat: Corrin's attempt to navigate her complex relationship with her family is fairly compelling stuff, and

Just wrapped it up. There's definitely a difficulty spike towards the end - it's not brutal, but the game certainly stops handing you easy victories during the last few battles.

This weekend, I will be wrapping up FIRE EMBLEM: FATES - BIRTHRIGHT and jumping straight into FIRE EMBLEM: FATES: CONQUEST. Currently on Chapter 24 of the former, and I think I'm just about ready to tackle the stiffer challenge that the latter offers. Though some of the early chapters of Birthright proved fairly

Sorry, I should have clarified - I meant the Map Pack DLC. I'm definitely planning to get Revelation.

Thanks for the heads up. May hold off on the DLC until it's all out and has been reviewed, then. Hoping to be able to making it through Conquest on Classic but I've seen a lot of reviewers saying that they gave in to the temptation to turn it down to Casual after running into some particularly nasty missions.

Though I've spent a little time with FAR CRY 4, most of my gaming time this week has been dedicated to FIRE EMBLEM FATES: BIRTHRIGHT, which is every bit as great as I was hoping it would be. I'm not a FE veteran - AWAKENING was my first title - but BIRTHRIGHT makes subtle improvements on that already-excellent game in

I'm halfway through FAR CRY 4 at the moment (the third one I've played after FAR CRY 3 and BLOOD DRAGON), and I have to admit that the repetitiveness of the series has dampened the fun a bit. That being said, I find the FC series much easier to return to than the ASSASSIN'S CREED games, largely because the side

This week has been crazy, so I've had precious little time to play more FAR CRY 4 or XENOBLADE CHRONICLES 3D. Hopefully, this weekend will be a little more relaxed and I'll have a chance to make some progress in both.
