Love that final boss battle in Dark Souls so much. A really satisfying, tough-but-fair finish. My single favorite piece of music from the series.

DARK SOULS 2. Okay, this game pretty much has its hooks in me now, so I suspect I'll be spending entirely too much time with it this weekend. Just engaged in some jolly co-operation against the Smelter Demon, who proved no match for two reasonably capable warriors going back and forth between distracting him and

This is why I've always found Metacritic a more valuable resource for determining the critical mood.

Seems like he's really enjoying his retirement.

This is an episode of Comedy Bang Bang, right? It has to be…

Rectify is shot in the small Georgia town where I live. It makes great use of quite a few well-loved local spots, and is generally a fine visual showcase of our little town. The fact that it's one of the finest dramas on TV is a terrific bonus. Very proud that's shot here. We've also had quite a few episodes of the

Demon Souls is arguably even more punishing than Dark Souls, but in many ways it's still my favorite of the series. Love the structure, love the Nexus, love the overall atmosphere, love the mythology. I'd recommend picking it up. Don't be afraid to use a Wiki now and then, either. It's even more stubborn about

I will be playing more Dark Souls 2. I'm still pretty early in the game - just beat the No Man's Wharf boss and heading back to The Lost Bastille (where I had kind of stalled out earlier). So far it doesn't quite have its hooks it me to the same degree as Dark Souls, but it's still pretty early. The only boss that has

Good luck in Anor Londo, man. That place chewed me up and spit me out the first time I tried to play through Dark Souls - more specifically, the boss of that area chewed me up and spit me out. Had to come back over a year later with a different character build to get through it.

I'll be playing Mario Kart 8, which is an excellent Mario Kart. I'm currently about halfway through the 150cc races (trying to get gold medals on all of them), and I've been doing a fair amount of racing online, too. I generally don't do a lot of online gaming, but I really like the way Mario Kart uses the points

Chocolate or vanilla ice cream (your pick) with a salted cream core.

I'm still holding out for The Blues Brothers Blueberry Blast.

I know the perfect guy to score this. One of the most influential and distinctive producers working in popular music today: Rick Rubin.

My memories are a little hazy, but isn't that basically the live action Super Mario Bros. movie?

Hmmm. I don't know how much Nintendo will be asking for this, but I can't help but think the concept would work better if it were packaged in some sort of Little Big Planet format: a short story campaign, some extensive tutorials fully outlining the creation possibilities and access to countless player-created levels

I can't get the title track out of my head. "They threw me down in the lazaretto/born rottin', born rotten!"

"Rise Of The Tomb Raider is billed as the game in which Lara Croft will 'become the person she was meant to be.'"

If Tom Hardy gets cast, I really hope he speaks in his Lawless voice. "Ahmmmm Drfhruhrhghr Strgnfhfus. Srchyminin Spruash. Damn yer eyes."

I will say that the the mine cart and barrel levels are a blast this time around. Having two hearts at your disposal rather than automatic one-hit kills makes all the difference in the world.

Pretty much agree with all of this. It has its charms, but the wacky/whimsical tone seems awfully strained at times.
