The Tick comic did a great take on that. Paul the Samurai is fighting a group of ninjas, and gives the 'No quarter asked, none given!' line. The ninjas are quite confused. 'I think he wants a quarter…?'

He'd be good, but without a great deal of voice-over, a live action Punisher is just a guy shooting people.
