Oh man, that’s so true - I’ve been side-eyeing people with “I voted” stickers all day thinking “don’t fuck this up for us, dude.”

My whole life I was a Republican. A few years ago I became an Independent. Today I went to polls and voted straight party Democrat, something I once did not think I would ever even consider. I don’t think I’m alone, if the Twitter hashtag #GOPvotingblue has anything to say about it. Someone has to stop these people.

Native Floridian that had to move out of state recently, here. C’mon Florida! Do something well, for once!

Someone posted on my Facebook that it was like waiting on a group project grade- I know I did my shit right, so I’m just sitting here hoping everyone else did their fucking part.

This all day. I’m in Washington State and it’s the same way here. The ballot this year had a large section on the front proclaiming “NO POSTAGE NEEDED!” It’s literally the easiest thing to do and it happens by electing officials who will pass it into law.

Counterpoint: I like voting on election day. I like the camaraderie, I don’t mind the lines. PLUS the sweet old ladies at the Historical Society are usually running a bake sale.

All you people in states waiting in line to vote: if you manage to flip anything, please do yourselves a favor and get vote by mail implemented.  I’m in Oregon, and any of us in the US states where vote by mail is how we vote can testify:  this is a far superior system.

Some early polling places began releasing numbers last week and saw young voter turn out (18-29 I believe) in some states increase by over 500%. I am really hopefully that people are going to be shocked at the results today.

Mainer here, about 45 min southwest of Portland in a tiny ass town. I’ve never seen a line to vote, not for any election and certainly not midterms. In 2016 you maybe had to wait an extra sec to get to the person to get your ballot but that was it. Always open polling booths.

Is it lame that I teared up? Because I teared up.

He had one successful venture, The Apprentice. Because a narcissistic asshole can really shine in reality TV.

they like Trump because he is “honest” and “gets things done”.

I find it funny that people who are ignorant about something would go full into their ignorance to not think, is this right or not?

Education (and educators) are a big part of the problem here. Too many white educators have decided that the only way to be avoid giving offense is to totally ignore race. And it’s not just blackface, many kids have absolutely no idea about minstrelsy, Jim Crow, segregation, or that any form of racism survived the

My friend teaches a college course that satisfies a diversity requirement for business majors. She says this semester has been terrible, with a large portion of the students utterly refuse to engage with the materials (53%: The Next Generation,) but one did say she understood what it’s like being a minority as she’s

My Facebook feed was rife with friends of friends who “just don’t understand the big deal” about blackface or those assholes in Idaho with their border wall/Mexican stereotype costumes.

Yeah, this isn’t a new thing. Blackface hasn’t been ‘acceptable’ in *white* mainstream American culture for like 30 years. Still, every couple of months some idiot gives it a shot and get called out and plays dumb. There’s no excuse for ignorance.

So what they’re saying is, because her son is albino she can do blackface?

If you are an American adult in 2018 and you claim to have no knowledge of what blackface is, you should not be allowed to teach children. If this woman were not lying, she would still be unfit to teach. Fuck her and her “you’re welcome for educating the world about blackface/ I haven’t been caught being racist for

She’s really trying to use the excuse of being ignorant about blackface, after the entire country made Megyn Kelly’s dumbass a headline for days about the same thing?
