I have a T-Shirt idea, hoping someone can make it happen.

I don’t think she said she lives in Avondale, but she went to the Taco Bell there after a night of drinking. Assuming she went to the Revolution Brewing Brewpub on Kedzie, that place has no food. So she may have been visiting rather than living there.

Same. I find the taste of Diablo to be too artificial. Fire sauce is where it’s at.

For Indian food, it’s not just Tomatoes, but also Chili Peppers and Potatoes. If you are an Indian Vegetarian, cooking without these three ingredients is almost impossible.

The first time I had Neapolitan Pizza at SpaccaNapoli in Chicago. I realized then, what really good cooking and ‘terroir’ really means when it comes to flavors and texture and everything, that makes great food great in the first place.

And ... do they shake the said tailfeather

“ And I got to go to the sex museum!”

Pics, or it didn’t happen!

For me the problem is that most black owned places are not vegetarian friendly. And the ones that are Vegan (In Chicago there’s a lot of these places), are too far from where I live. :(

Veggie Philly. For some reason, the grilled Onion+mushroom+green peppers combined with melted gooey cheese, and mayonnaise, along with Lettuce and Tomatoes .... just really works. There’s a place near DePaul in Chicago called Philly Bros. that does the best version of this.

The original under Michigan Ave still does not serve Fries, I think. That was the one parodies in the SNL skit.

It’s spelled PETSI, please.

Aimee for the win. I have the things from Marnie and Allison’s list(except the popcorn thingy and the Fish Spatula (I have a flexible silicone spatula set instead)). I would not miss anything but the cutting board and the tongs.

When Little Caesar’s is better than your offering; you know you have hit bottom. The worst of it is that I remember when Pizza Hut was actually decent Pizza (I am talking 90's here). What the hell happened?

I think it is “piquant” or spicy in Italian, what with the capers and the lemon juice with the Anchovies. Is Spanish picante specifically hot-spicy?

I don’t understand why people equate Chicago Pizza with ONLY the Deep Dish kind? The non Deep Dish varieties of Pizza in the city can stand with any of the other cities’ pizza offerings.

One other thing to consider is to sand the skillet before doing any seasoning. The older process of making cast iron gave a smoother surface when finished. (If you find an antique skillet, run your palm on the surface. it will be much smoother than the newer skillets). The new cast iron process does not have the same

Bourdain did soften his stance when he visited India. When you see a 2000 year history of vegetarianism; combined with inventive use of spices and herbs; you begin to think differently. Which is why I tell people who want to become vegetarian; to try and use either Indian vegetarian (not vegan because of extensive use

I am a vegetarian and I had a big collection of about 40 books. But I found that the only books I was using were the vegetarian cookbooks. Plus I made a decision to limit my collection to 20 books so that I am actually using them. Because of that, I don’t buy books that are not predominately vegetarian. I am now at my
